“nothing like it”

Written on: 07/11/2012 by bimmermo (1 review written)

Had a 4 cylinder BMW before and did not rate it at all...far too slow. This straight 6 is a great drive. Not lightning quick but plenty quick enough for the road. Very smooth and built like a tank.Holds the road like nothing else. This is a drivers car who enjoys the pleasure of just driving for the fun of it. I have the m sport which I highly recommend especially with the staggered wheels. Superb handling...it just wants to go faster...! There is nothing that I don,t like about it. Just a... (read more)

Had this car for about 9 months now, and I have to say that is absolutely beatiful to look at and to drive. This is only my 3rd car and I can safely say that its the best so far! My previous car's have lasted a year at the most before I wanted something new, but I can see myself having this for sometime. I frequently get 25mpg and I do like to put it to the test every now and again. Its got plenty of space in the back for passengers, baby seat, shopping, anything really. The boot fits my... Having had this car for almost 10 years,i can say that it is a very good car.At first it performs well, its handling is great(though you have to be a bit careful in really slippery roads because it rear wheel drive),and the interior is of excellent quality.I have done 150000 km,and the only problems i had so far,are a broken airbag sensor, and a noisy window when i close it.The 6 cylinder's engine sound is lovely,oh,and be careful cause it is really low,and a bit difficult for tall people to... Bought from new. Had the BMW 320Ci for five years and nearly 90K miles. Generally very pleased. Comfortable car and very spacious in the back for three people. Rear seats fold to give a space that I can get a cycle into (wheels removed). Good performance from 2.2l straight six engine, giving 33.6mpg (petrol). Top speed is more than enough and continues to accelerate beyond 120mph. Extensive air bags and three point belts for all seats. (read more)

It's just incredible to read reviews by some people about the BMW 3 Series 320 Ci Coupe. I've had one for about 6 years and love it to bits. Lovely little straight six powerplant and manual gearbox, clearly a driver's car as opposed to the motorist. The trims around the doors do come unstuck after a time and a suitable adhesive that's long lasting is difficult to find. Sikaflex seems to be the go but be careful not to get it on the headlining, etc. (read more)

I bought a four year old 320 coupe in December. At the time i was looking for a quality sport coupe that could seat four and nearly went for an RX8 but was put off by the fuel consumption. The BMW popped up in thought and from then on it was one way traffic!!
She is a beautiful low mileage model and is just pure driving gold. Though not lightning quick she is elegantly and effortlessly fast at motorway speeds and is so reassuring with the feedback to the driver.

The BMW 3 Series 320 Ci Coupe looks really good. Handles very smoothly. Grips to the road well. When cornering it keeps a firm grip to the road, minimum body roll. Feels very solid on the road. Accelerates well when cruising and wanting to overtake. The sound system is quite good to excellent - as compared to the average systems installed in other cars. Feels fantastic when being driven. Really happy with my purchase. Bluetooth supported phones - lack of range. (read more)

I Bought my BMW 320 Ci Coupe June from a none BMW garage at a price I thought good being far cheaper than lower specced "approved" BMW's in main dealers. The car Goes well & is relaxed at speed. Pull from low revs is lacking until vanos? system kicks in though. Overtaking ability is very good, care must be taken in third though to avoid hitting the rev limiter & an upchange is needed early!

MY BMW 320 Ci Coupe was purchased and used in norway. I bought it two days ago and it took me 6 months to find the right one. my car is a 2.0 litre, but I've fitted it with a engine chip, that produces an extra 20 horsepower so its equivelant with todays version of the 2.2. its a 2000 model. the nm is not as high as 210 on the latest version, but close enough. anyone with a 2.0 litre should consider this engine chip, the car is much more willing under 2000 rpm, and the 4th and 5th gear is... Written on: 26/08/2002 by Terry Harper.

When first looking at a BMW 3-series coupe, I was undecided whether to go for a 318ci (new high-output 4-cylinder 2-litre), 320ci (2.2 litre 6-cylinder)or a 325ci (2.5 litre 6-cylinder); 330ci was out of question (cost & company car tax co2 emmissions!). However, although 318 drove well, the exhaust note of the 6-cylinder 320 soon quenched this choice. Also, the slightly greater cost of the 320 over the 318 was outweighed by a couple of more 'extras' being inclued (electronic handling... (read more)

Bought this BMW 320 Ci Coupe from main dealer in uk and since taking ownership i have not stopped smiling. Just had full first inspection service done though and nothing wrong except very minor things which they have to point out, nothing to worry about but still was £460!

With respect I have a 1999 V plate 318CI. I have borrowed my dads 530d in the past and theres a big difference in power, so I know what the more powerful BMW's are like. However I feel that the 1.9 (118bhp) is an adequate engine for the base model and actually goes quite well. It's certainly not underpowered unless shooting off at the lights and looking an idiot is the most important part. The 318 pulls ok and does an acceptable job. I wouldn't say no to a bigger engine necessarily, but this car gives a great balance of power, economy and insurance. The new 318 (bhp) should be even better.

TBMW made engine enhancements in size (power and torque) in midd-2000, the previous 320, which had the the 2.0 ltr six cylinder 24 valve engine had 150 bhp, but the new 320ci (midd-2000 onwards) has a 2.2 ltr 170 bhp engine. So anyone with a 320 ci or se which mas made earlier than midd-2000 has the 2.0 ltr engine.

I don't know why you lot are arguing as both cars are fantastically smooth and fast. I drove a new 325I and if thats anything to go by, the 320CI and the 323CI or se should be excellent. The 323 ci is marginally faster as it has more torque (181 lb/ft) as opposed to the 320Ci's (155lb/ft), both of which are more than enough for driving on public roads !
