Firstly I would like to Mention something if you buy any rifle of a friend, relative or stranger u don't know how they exactly treated the rifle So don't be shocked when the stock splits or the barrel bends however the hatsan Edgar mod 60 s is a brilliant rifle I have over 6 rifles to my disposal and it knocks over rabbits and fells pigeons at 45-50 yards with ease Value for money this rifle dominates On the other hand I have only got 1 problem the foresight fluorescent plastic on the... Having wanted an air rifle to shoot pigeon for a long time, I finally found myself in a position to purchase one.
Setting my budget at around 200 GBP, I started reading online about my options. I finally visited a gunsmiths in Cheadle, UK. Explained I was in the market for an air rifle within my budget and was surprised at the response.
Although the shop owner had plenty of rifles up to my price range he pointed me to the Hatsan Mod 60. The significance of this is that the shop keeper...

Had a Hatsan Mod60s for nearly 18months. What a load of rubbish! Kicks like a mule, cheaply manufactured, shook itself to bits after 6 months. Started off well, but got worse and worse the more I used it. I wouldn't have minded so much if it was actually powerfull, but when tested it was barely even 9ft/lb.
I have been asked many times now if I would recommend this rifle to anybody. Simply put, would I hell!
Yes, it's cheap. But there is no value for money at all. For an extra £50, you...

After glancing through some of the other reviews i agree with you regarding the sincerity of some of the stuff on here.( i have only read the one page but thats enough for me) Quite funny though in a sad way. Comparing rubbish like this to quality stuff like webleys and claims of 50 rabbits a week hitting tin cans at 100 yards.Shame they dont show their IP addys isnt it. Your review was very good mate.

Perhaps you should have taken it back to the shop you bought it from! I cannot believe the second comment compares Webley to Hatsan, as they are the same damned gun! The 60S is basically a Stingray, but with a much better safety switch at the back. The 60S is a good gun and I think this review is well off!

Purchased this rifle from "Lees" at Boreham near Chelmsford at £100.
Superb rifle, well manufactured.
Having been used to an underarm Webley, the break action took a bit of getting used to. Much slower to reload a pellet, but I am sure with time I will speed up.
If you are after a budget full power air rifle then this is the gun for you.
Forget about the Chinese SMK rubbish and get one of these, you wont regret it.

Combined with a very good sight, this weapon has been in use for over a year now.
I bought it to try to keep down the number of rabbits on my land ( a few acres ) together with the acres of two other land owners.
It has been superb.
It regularly despatches more than fifty every week. It does so consistantly, accurately and is a joy to use. If the pellet misses the rabbit, its the man pulling the trigger, not the gun which is responsible.
There may be better guns out there, but not at...

Only issue is the weight balance, while not too heavy the gun appears to be off centre when stalking prey. This is not an issue when target shooting from fixed or prone position. Very accurate and I would strongly suggest a scope. Value for money, unbeatable, and a far better finish than chinese models. I would strongly recommend, for those like me, on a restricted budget, a good option. You get what you pay for and you certainly get a lot with this Esgar Bros model 60. (read more)

In my opinion i must agree a powerful weapon in it's own class, just on the limit for legality and a looker too (with the scope fixed). The safety mechanism is a neat little touch, a must for that ready to shoot option, bad point has to be the weight. Can't wait to...

I would recommend this gun 100%
Scope defiantly a must. Beautiful looking weapon, nice and accurate and powerful, they have recently upgraded the design which is nice and makes it slightly lighter because of using different wood.
Lovely and must have air rifle.
The new model has safety, which though a good thing, is still time consuming, and unnecessary. the safety catch is also hard to reach if a scope is mounted.

Both Sparrows and Blackbirds are protected species under the Wildlife and Countryside Act and it is a Criminal Offence to kill them. Please either use paper targets or learn the law. Otherwise you'll get yourself into serious trouble and damage the reputation of law abiding shooters

I would watch what you shoot then watch what you type when telling of your quarry.Google 'British pest list' and anything "not" listed is automatically protected as first poster stated.Blackbirds really just get on with nest building, raising young in silence.I am not preaching but please dont kill protected species.
