Firstly I would like to Mention something if you buy any rifle of a friend, relative or stranger u don't know how they exactly treated the rifle So don't be shocked when the stock splits or the barrel bends however the hatsan Edgar mod 60 s is a brilliant rifle I have over 6 rifles to my disposal and it knocks over rabbits and fells pigeons at 45-50 yards with ease Value for money this rifle dominates On the other hand I have only got 1 problem the foresight fluorescent plastic on the... Paid just fifty quid for this lovely rifle, with a nikko sterling scope, and surpassed my expectations great for live quarry, and target shooting very accurate yes, has a bit of a kick but an experienced shooter as myself reasures me of the power this gun has, if you get the chance to purchase one, go for it. Having wanted an air rifle to shoot pigeon for a long time, I finally found myself in a position to purchase one.
Setting my budget at around 200 GBP, I started reading online about my options. I finally visited a gunsmiths in Cheadle, UK. Explained I was in the market for an air rifle within my budget and was surprised at the response.
Although the shop owner had plenty of rifles up to my price range he pointed me to the Hatsan Mod 60. The significance of this is that the shop keeper... (read more)

Had a Hatsan Mod60s for nearly 18months. What a load of rubbish! Kicks like a mule, cheaply manufactured, shook itself to bits after 6 months. Started off well, but got worse and worse the more I used it. I wouldn't have minded so much if it was actually powerfull, but when tested it was barely even 9ft/lb.
I have been asked many times now if I would recommend this rifle to anybody. Simply put, would I hell!
Yes, it's cheap. But there is no value for money at all. For an extra £50, you... (read more)

Purchased this rifle from "Lees" at Boreham near Chelmsford at £100.
Superb rifle, well manufactured.
Having been used to an underarm Webley, the break action took a bit of getting used to. Much slower to reload a pellet, but I am sure with time I will speed up.
If you are after a budget full power air rifle then this is the gun for you.
Forget about the Chinese SMK rubbish and get one of these, you wont regret it. (read more)

Combined with a very good sight, this weapon has been in use for over a year now.
I bought it to try to keep down the number of rabbits on my land ( a few acres ) together with the acres of two other land owners.
It has been superb.
It regularly despatches more than fifty every week. It does so consistantly, accurately and is a joy to use. If the pellet misses the rabbit, its the man pulling the trigger, not the gun which is responsible.
There may be better guns out there, but not at... (read more)

I think this is a very good gun as it only cost me £130 iv only shot cans from 100 yds at the moment hopping to go hunting it shoots cans up 3 ft in the garden.I don't like the kick back as there is to much and can knock you of target. If you have got a tight budget but want a powerful gun this is the gun you want. Only issue is the weight balance, while not too heavy the gun appears to be off centre when stalking prey. This is not an issue when target shooting from fixed or prone position. Very accurate and I would strongly suggest a scope. Value for money, unbeatable, and a far better finish than chinese models. I would strongly recommend, for those like me, on a restricted budget, a good option. You get what you pay for and you certainly get a lot with this Esgar Bros model 60. (read more)

Just purchased the HATSAN Edgar Brothers M0D.60 S (.22), SAS (shock absorber system), fitted BSA Essential 4x32 scope, with 50 x targets, 500 Pointer .22 (5.5mm) pellets, rifle bag (free of charge). Total costs £158.00 all in.
In my opinion i must agree a powerful weapon in it's own class, just on the limit for legality and a looker too (with the scope fixed). The safety mechanism is a neat little touch, a must for that ready to shoot option, bad point has to be the weight. Can't wait to... (read more)

i've had my Edgar Bros. Model 60 .22 for little over ayear now. i used it for the 1st time in 3 months today, and got within 15ft of 2 rabbits at 2 different locations, and the scope is zeroed in perfectly. i shot at the head (as you do) and hit it, both rabbits rolled over, and both rabbits stood back up and walked away down their burrows! this is after about 400 pellets have been put through it! this was using crossman accupells! I have used many air rifles and many military rifles and when I payed £135 for this rifle along with a very good Hawke Airmax 2-7x32 AO MAP6 Scope included in that price, I was not very hopeful for it, as this is a price for a solely beginner air riffle, however the Edgar Bros handles and behaves like a £350 rifle only deal. Fast break apart action and tremendous accuracy up to 70 yards (with scope) light weight and very good for beginners as it is a low cost low maintenance gun. I would recommend this gun 100%
Scope defiantly a must. Beautiful looking weapon, nice and accurate and powerful, they have recently upgraded the design which is nice and makes it slightly lighter because of using different wood.
Lovely and must have air rifle. The new model has safety, which though a good thing, is still time consuming, and unnecessary. the safety catch is also hard to reach if a scope is mounted. (read more)
