A wonderful book that is particularly good at showing how the Germans ran the Russian war day-to-day. Very detailed. I particularly like the bits where Hitler and his senior staff argue about where all the tanks and trains should be sent. I was amazed at how much Hitler 'micro-managed' the war. If you are interested in this subject, this is THE book. Alan Clark was a bit of an admirer of Hitler (for his military genius, not his genocidal tendencies), and this comes across a little bit too strongly sometimes.

Alan Clark, Barbarossa: The Russian German Conflict, 1941-45 a great book. I would recommend it to anyone interested in military history.Excellent documentation of the War on the Eastern Front, the book is loaded with information. You get a feel of the hatred between Communism and Fascism, also the personal rivalry between Hitler and Stalin.- Read Brocko26's review (82 words)
