I contacted Consumer Direct about these guys. In the end I decided it was going to be easier and cheaper to replace defective hardware (as shipped) at my own cost. Make your own decision, but be warned.

Purchased a system online from Cyberpower via their Configurator which allows the prospective buyer to select compatible components to custom build your PC.
What they fail to mention is Cyberpower sees this as an upgrade even though they build the pc in which case the three years warranty is reduced to one year on the expensive parts of the PC.
I would be reluctant to buy from them again.- Read Guest's review (140 words)

I ordered, confirmed my order on the chicken page. I immediately recieved an email stating my order had been confirmed with my credit card. That evening, I received another email asking me to FAX a photocopy of my driver's license (both sides) and a photocopy of my credit card (both sides) to them. When I questioned the request, I was told it was company policy. Again, I refused to provide that info... the website was supposedly https. I asked several times to speak with a supervisor or manager ...- Read cmorrow1005's review (160 words)

I ordered a system from them in 2007. I recieved it and found my monitor would not recognise the OS. The system had to be returned. The fault was found to be incorrect BIOS settings. So with the BIOS set correctly they returned it to me. Upon booting up I suddenly saw VISTA appear oh great they had installed the wrong OS it should have been XP. The computer was returned again. When it finally arrived back to me all was well. But after 3 months the Graphics card became faulty and slowly got worse ...- Read Guest's review (207 words)

I have been in the repair field for years and I have a lot of bad thoughts from this company. I do a lot of repairs on there systems for people who buy them and its worse then Dell. At least dell will boot when you get after that you are on your own but the reason everyone runs into issues is this, there parts are re-manufactured, the hard drives are not new neither is there memory or main boards. In my opinion, the reason there lines are busy is because there are only a hand full of people work ...- Read scottcwilson's review (108 words)

Until recently I had been a loyal cyberpower customer. They have great prices no doubt, but if you ever have a problem, you might as well fix it yourself. I bought a new comp in OCT 0f 2006. Right out of the box it was crashing, freezing and giving me the blue screen of death. After months of dealing with it I finally called tech support. That line is busy 90% of the time. You have to call 100 times to get through once. When I finally did get through, I did hours of troubleshooting (requires tha ...- Read jdk201's review (345 words)

My CyberPower Inc. Xtreme Gamer Platinum Pro computer system never worked on arrival. It kept switching itself off when accessing Media Centre, which turned out to be the internet connection. I sent it back to Cyberpower twice for repair, and each time it came back with the same problem. I was told they would build a new PC, but they didn't. After the third time I gave up all confidence in the company, and I asked for a full refund, which they haven't given, and they are making me pay for th ...- Read scotty10's review (228 words)

I bought a fully loaded MSI-1039 notebook. The first problem was the 2Gb of RAM were both DEFECTIVE. I ran memtest86, and they were both not just defective in one sector, but MANY. I wondered how that happened, so I exchanged it and it was okay.
Now, 4 months into it, the left hinge would pop a little bit every time. I tried closing the LCD screen, causing a slow but deep rack in the back of the LCD chassis. I tried CyberPower Tech Support, and they referred me to MSI, then MSI referred me b ...- Read libtech's review (144 words)

Typically, only the "unhappy" customers of any product post reviews. I am taking the time to post as a very happy customer of Cyberpower. I researched all computers before purchasing the Cyberpower Xtreme Gamer Platinum Pro computer system. Take for example " Alienware"...I mainly used better business bureau for 90% of my decision. Alienware had HORRIBLE ratings there. Cyberpower had by far the best, even out of Dell and Gateway etc.
I will be purchasing all my computers from Cyberpower. The ...- Read roblester's review (170 words and 1 comment)

A quick summation: In less than a year my Cyberpower PC:
Needed to be returned TWICE for repairs
Had THREE hard drives fail from 2 different manufacturers
Had a power supply failure
Did not come with proper installation disks, had to download them (without a working PC)
Had a video card failure, was told I did not need to return the defective card, but then they charged my credit card without authorization or even notification.

I bought a Cyberpower 6000+ for my son, due to great advertising. The computer was built, and arrived within the 5-10 days as specified. The computer died at end of the first week. Their on-site tech folks, 2Net, seemed willing to help, but although I purchased Cyberpower, they did not include the on-site service number. After four emails and three calls of being switched around, I still have no response from the company. In addition, I have asked if I should just send the computer back, bu ...- Read bheverly's review (213 words)

Order arrived two weeks ago yesterday. Still not working!! It overheats!! I am on the phone with tech support everyday, and every support person has a different answer, so far all wrong. They replaced the fan, and were going to ship it UPS Ground. I called to ask for faster service and was told 3 days. I asked for a manager and got 2 days, but no overnight. The manager lied about the UPS schedule that I had already printed out, and it was in front of me when I called. They were supposed ...- Read cybermad's review (203 words and 1 comment)

I bought my CyberPower Inc. Xtreme Gamer Platinum Pro computer last year, and it was a great deal. I compared prices for all the same components with different companies, and all the leading gaming computers were priced between 1 and 2 grand higher than cyberpower's product. I took the risk buying from a less popular company, and it paid off!- Read JosephSmith's review (102 words)

I was in contact with the better business bureau whom then informed me that cyber power denied ever being contacted by me in the two years that I called them constantly. Within four months my computer crashed and I was instructed to reformat the hardrive, which cost me my college papers. Two weeks later the same thing. It would crash to a blue screen, and then eventually not even that. Now I am past my 10th reformat and it still crashes all the time. I was denied my request for the inhome w ...- Read donotbuycppc's review (160 words and 1 comment)

Everything was as advertised. I recieved what I expected. I purchased the XBLADE case mod and it really stands out from the crowd. I loved the ability to completly customize my PC. Everything was shipped exactly as ordered.
I had a little trouble placing the order but that was more due to my problem than the company's. They worked very diligently to correct the problem and make me feel good about my purchase.

Although the Xtreme Gamer Platinum Pro computer system itself is decent, there are many problems with Cyberpower Inc. Upon arrival of my computer, I found that a component that I had ordered had not been installed; it just wasn't there at all. This is just sloppy workmanship, and raises the question: is there really a 72 hour extensive testing period? Or is that falsely advertised?
Although that was bad enough, here is what was even worse: some of the worst customer service I have ever see ...- Read MrLogan's review (235 words)

CyberPower inc shipped me a broken computer. But not just slightly broken, I'm talking totally broken. I have been trying for SIX WEEKS to get replacement parts, and I have left one telephone message per day requesting to hear from a supervisor - not one time have my calls been returned.
1. The hard drive, where the cables connect to it, looked like it had been thrown on the floor.
2. The neon light bulb (not very important, but paid for) is shattered right down the middle.
3. The ...- Read t2miller's review (246 words)

Out of box, MY CyberPower Inc. Xtreme Gamer Platinum Pro case was damaged and motherboard not screwed down. Blatant lie about computer system being tested for 72 hous prior to being shipped, as computer crashed to restart continuously. Soon after solving this problem (about a week of trying to get ahold of and be helped by customer service), the RAM died on me. Soon after that the video card died on me. Both were replaced with parts in even worse shape. I had to buy my own repairs. After b ...- Read m mcspadden's review (165 words)

Bought the $3000 machine with the fancy on-site warrantee. It never worked, always crashing to a blue screen.
After months on the phone with their contractor the machine is still in pieces on the floor. The tech finally came to replace the motherboard, but it immediately crashed to a blue screen. He left shaking his head.
Cyberpowerpc never answers their phone or returns their calls.
We would never buy anything from Cyberpowerpc again. This is the most abhorent customer service imag ...- Read tipjohnson's review (84 words)
