Good Points: Very accurate rifle, compact and lightweight.

Bad Points: None really apart from the cloth roll it comes in and the mag is awkward to load.

General comments: The Alros Trailsman is a great fun take down, and very very accurate with its full floating Walther barrel, I can get a 25mm 8 shot group at 40 yards with it on a calm day! It does suffer from the odd flyer but what rifle doesn't? Quick and easy to assemble and disassemble but watch out for the 'O' ring on the valve pin! It always gets stuck in the end of the butt so I keep a seal pick in the case so I can dig it out and place it back on the pin.

A little uncomfortable for hunting due to its style but this is a take down so a compromise has to be made. I found the buddy bottle a bit cold on the fingers when on field trips and I'm not keen on gloves so pulled an old sock over it and wrapped it with camo tape, problem solved plus it protects the finish on the bottle if you decide to rest it on a fence post.

The only real bad points are that the captive mag is a little awkward to load so if your hands are like bunches of bananas don't even bother, my hands aren't exactly huge and I find I need a matchstick or a twig to properly seat the pellets into the mag. Plus removing any unused pellets is not exactly a simple task but the seal pick comes in again here, (it's illegal to store a gun with pellets in the magazine or breach, even if the mag is not in the gun). The cloth roll is ok but has no space for a fitted scope and the projections on the butt section catch on the fabric so I keep mine in an eggbox foam lined case.

Overall the quality of this gun is very good and it is very well made, a detachable grip would be nice to make more room for a scope. Easily converted to FAC but only goes up to about 22 f/lbs so hardly worth it as this would take up the reserve engineering and would be running the rifle at its limits.

Alros need to work on their website/page! and as for contacting them, give up before you start!

A great take down and a joy to own.

The Alros Trailsman is an excellent field gun. Very accurate. Very easily tuned/FAC converted. Regular cleaning/service keep a robust breakdown rifle in reliable condition. Keep an eye on seals when disassembling pressure cylinder and during transport. Wrapping in insulation tape prevents loosing valve pin o-ring. Keep piston/housing well lubricated. check all components are tight as they loosen easily during assembly and operation. Great gun

I have a Simmons 3-9x50 Deerfield scope fitted to my Alros Trailsman. High mountings.
Knocking pennies over at fifty yards is a breeze.
    Rabbits, Pigeons, No problem.
Very highly recommended gun. Decent price.
If you don't mind the unconventional, then this is surely a gun to own.
    Very happy shooter (:0)

This rifle is a good work horse. My rifle gets battered around inside my rucsac and still functions perfectly. Even with a detachable barrel, the rifle rarely needs re-zeroing. Its pretty light, so handles well, But its never gonna be like having a oiled walnut stock in your shoulder. Top tip for trailsman owners: Dis-asemble the rifle and wrap all parts in matt black pvc electrical tape. When you come to take it off, it will leave sticky marks on the metal work, but these can eaisily be removed ...

I bought this Alros Trailsman rifle after seeing the Trailsman Octoplus reviewed by Air Gunner magazine. They gave it a good write-up and I wanted a shorter rifle which I could transport to work on my bike. This one fited the bill so I orderd & subsequently recieved it. I had problems zeroing it initially but this turned out to be the pellets hitting the silencer. I like the looks of it, the ease of maintenance and the overall finish. Some of the machined parts need a better standard of final fi ...
