As like many others here, I got suckered into the SIM package where they pay the 12 months line rental (you pay the first 3, then they give you a rebate)
Whatta ya know? Month 4....nothing, nadda, zilch! No emails, their telephone number now doesn't exist! But the website is and some poor people could get suckered into buying a phone not knowing they won't see the phone or their money again.
I had a feeling this would happen the moment I said yes to the dutch telephone sales person.

This is my second view, I have been waiting for my rebates on my contract which was promised by the Mobile Republic.
I haven't had any of these, and they continue to ignore my emails.
I hope people all join in by contacting Watchdog here letting know exactly what cowboys these guys are.- Read playjam's review (60 words and 4 comments)

NEVER EVER BUY FROM THE MOBILE REPUBLIC! I THINK THEY HAVE NOW GONE INTO LIQUIDATION WHICH IS 'GOOD'. Basically, I was supposed to get rebates of £30 for first 6 months and £15 for 6 months after that. I have recieved none of them. Contacted trading standards, the bloke did everythin he could but when the company is so poor there is only a certain amount they can do. They've now gone bankrupt so I probably won't recieve any money. SO ANNOYED! I'm now in a contract with no free t ...- Read colliwag's review (104 words)

The Mobile Republic - Well campers, take heart that at least one of us MAY have come out of this terrible company with a smile; let me explain.....
8th January this year I ordered a sexy Samsung E700 on Vodafone. Three months later and a bucket-load of tickets, that laughable system they use, and more than a few phonecalls, I still hadn't received my phone, but, I did receive a letter from Singlepoint saying they'd set my direct debit up for 30 quid a month and would be taking it in a weeks t ...- Read Stewdeva's review (442 words)

Here is a letter that I have sent to Croydon Trading Standard. They are well aware of The Mobile Repulic, yet they still seem to be letting them trade.

I ordered a nokia 3310 smf mobile handset from The Mobile Republic in january for £71.99. I have not received my order yet. Can't get through to them as there is always recorded message. The only way to communicate with this company is by submitting tickets and that takes ages before you get reply. I contacted watchdog but they did not bother to do anything.- Read m khan's review (69 words)

It appals me that companies can legally continue trading in the way that The Mobile Republic do. Complaints on this site and others go back 2 years or more yet people are still being caught by their slick website and the fact that comparison sites effectively collude with them by featuring their advertising. I was tempted by one of these and am still trying to get my money back 2 months after the event.
I have now, on the advice of Trading Standards, sent a letter to them recorded delivery, ...- Read larryjen's review (141 words)

The Mobile Republic - I'll not bore everyone with another sob story. I ordered, they were out of stock, they have said I'll be getting a refund. That was February.
I have reported them to Watchdog but I don't hold up a lot of hope.
But, if you are still waiting for a refund go to https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk/csmco/index.jsp. That is the online version of Small Claims Court. You have to register which takes a short while and you have to pay £30 and have a postal address for the defendant ...- Read inkthebigmonkey's review (156 words)

I ordered a 12 month contract mobile phone from The Mobile Republic in the vain hope that it would be delivered before Christmas, a lot of mobile phone suppliers take a day or so and I thought that this company would be the same. How wrong I was.
After placing the order on 19th December, I was told that the phone was in stock and would be delivered within 5 working days. After numerous emails requesting delivery of the phone I was then told that it would be delivered in good time for when my ...- Read Natalie00's review (476 words)

What can I say about The Mobile Republic except they seem to me to be another unreliable online shop.
My first instance began when I decided to purchase a Nokia contract phone. Initially it looked a good deal, however it took them almost a month to deliver a single phone, on each occasion they tried to shift the blame onto T-Mobile stating they had run out of stock, although the last time I checked, Nokia made 8310's not T-Mobile.
Then not long after, I decided to purchase a battery from The ...- Read playjam's review (640 words and 3 comments)

The Mobile Republic - Why is that with hindsight you read these review sites??
I ordered a V600 in early March - the money was taken from my Visa card. The "expected" delivery was 5 days. It's now the end of March - and I'm convinced I've been conned. Once - when I did get through on the phone - the chap told me it would take longer to get a refund than wait for the phone!!!
After reading the other reviews on this site, I'm now quite concerned. I have cancelled my order with The Mobile R ...- Read Quiffster's review (230 words)

DO NOT USE The Mobile Republic!
I first ordered a Motorola V600 about a month ago. Within a week or 2 my phone arrived. It was the wrong one. The letter said that because of stock delays they have sent a different phone and if I didn't want to keep it to send it back and they would send me the one I wanted. I sent the phone back and waited....
I then found this site and started to worry. So I phoned them and got the man telling me how important I am to them. 30 to 40 phone calls and never spok ...- Read djt's review (294 words and 1 comment)

It's my own fault. I read the Review Centre comments on Mobile Republic, but thought they CANNOT be that bad, can they? Well, they are. In fairness they've not taken any money from me (yet...), but they have consistently failed to give me a reliable estimate of when my order might be delivered. Worse still, when I eventually managed to get through to them by phone - I was told categorically that my order was in stock and would ship the same day. A week later they sent me an email with a new ...- Read NickW's review (235 words)

PLEASE PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM the The Mobile Republic
I ordered an ericcson t610 from them in November 03, still not received it yet but all I hear is "we are very sorry and someone will contact you"
They supplied me with a temporary phone after 2 months so they could activate my account, but activated the wrong sim card so I had to buy a new one myself so I could use the phone.
Orange were no use at all because according to them I cannot cancel the account after it has been activated withou ...- Read duffer's review (157 words and 1 comment)

I ordered line rental through Mobile Republic, offering a rebate after 3 months. The deadline duly came and went, with no money forthcoming from Mobile Republic. I've lost count of the number of tickets sent to them and auto-replied to by Mobile Republic. I then contacted the line rental provider, through their customer services desk, to file a complaint. They agreed to contact Mobile Republic. This may have lent some weight to my claim, as I got a phone call from Mobile Republic a couple o ...- Read mobileopposition's review (101 words and 1 comment)

Ordered phone from The Mobile Republic via Letsbuyit.com regarding offer which gave you £30 back in the first 6 months and £15 back in last 6 months of twelve month contract. Seemed to good to be true but I thought what the heck!
Was then informed about this site. Read some of the reviews on here and was put off by Mobile Republic's overall poor rating. Especially after reading reviews on similar offers where they don't pay up their £30. I cancelled next day. This was when t ...- Read knrh's review (496 words)

Here is the message I've sent to Trading Standards abou The Mobile Republic...
I ordered a sim-free phone from this company on 11th March 2004 via the web. The website implied that this item was in stock and the delivery turnaround was around 3-5 days. The company debited my account for the value of the phone. On the 20th, I rang them to request the status of my order. At this point they said it would take another 10 days for delivery. So I instructed them to cancel the order and credit my ac ...- Read derv's review (213 words)

I ordered a Sony Ericsson Z600 and Vodafone sim card way back in January from The Mobile Republic and was told by customer support that I would get it in a week. After 3 weeks of "you'll get it next week when we get new stock", I decided to get a refund. I then had to wait a further 2 weeks for my refund to come through the post as a cheque!!! Why not just put it back in my account. I eventually ordered off The Link where I received it within 5 days.- Read dcfc1985's review (99 words)

I bought a battery for my phone specified by The Mobile Republic which wasn't suited to the phone. I have sent 7 e-mails today and been give 3 dates when I will get my refund. It is now 50 days since they recieved the product back but I do not have my money.
