I had alot of fun shooting pigeons, but it was very hard because it lacked in power when I was trying to shoot birds high up in the trees. Great target shooter from about 30 yards but no further really. The Beeman is great for the price. (read more)

It's very good in general shooting and accuracy. Nice and light so easy to hold and aim. I think it should have come with a bipod but you can always get one yourselves. The Beeman FH500 is a really nice air rifle that i would recommend to other shooters. (read more)

All in all i love this gun. Just bought it today fired quite a few rounds through it. Its really easy to cock, the auto safety is a good feature. Comes with scope which is always good. Main problem is that the scope doesn't click when trying to change elevation or windage knobs. Took me almost a half hour to get the scope sighted properly, but once you do its a dead on shot. Personally i don't mind the plastic too much, because my FH500 is made from really sturdy plastic. I'd recommend this... (read more)

When adjusting the scope, turn the screwdriver clockwise for up or right, counter clockwise to make it go down or left.
Use a poster when you adjust.

Good price. The Beeman FH500 is nice and light not any recoil. Its great at 475fps like me and my friend shot at a window his dint scratch it and mine shatterd it. It seems very accurate at short range. The bad things are. Its not very stong at long ranges not accurate at long ranges. Its very weak like I triped fell down and the plastic broke. The sight is not good at all at adjust ments I found it hard to aim. Its seems like its a toy. The scope I found hard to see the sight also I would... (read more)

This Beeman FH500 was the first Air Rifle I owned and I was not impressed, on first impressions it looks very small, almost like a toy and it shoots like one too with very weak power barely enough to make the pellet stick into a piece of wood, and in many cases I have had the pellet simply bounce off targets, I am hoping to get a BSA Lightning for my next rifle which is in a totally different league to this rifle . The Beeman FH500 is the First airgun I ever owned, also one of the cheapest on the market, so I wasn't expecting too much from it.
The gun is very easy to use, with not much cocking effort, and fairly low recoil; great for first time shooters. The gun is very light and easy to handle.
At 500fps in .177 calibre, it is slightly lacking in power, but still very effective at up to 40 feet or more. It is powerful enough to kill rats at short range, but if you're going for humane long range...

Beeman FH500 - Last time I shot an air rifle was over twenty years ago. Got the itch and decided to go for this entry level gun. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much for the price but I was pleasantly surprised.
The scope was a bit tricky to set but once set the rifle is pretty accurate, repeating well from around 30' to 35'. The rifle is a nice weight and the build quality for a rifle under £70 is reasonable. The stock looks cheap but lets be honest, what would you expect at this...

Beeman FH500:
Hello my friends, I would like to apologise first for my English.
For the last month I have tried four different airguns based on same "engine":
MARKSMAN 1790 BIATHLON TRAINER,
MARKSMAN 1745SF,
LaserHawk Competition Air Rifle,
and of course the Beeman FH500.
I don't think this is an issue of my bad luck but this Beeman FH500 was a last drop.
1) First thing I've noticed, as soon I received the rifle, the inner barrel was BENT!!!, it looks ok from outside as it is covered by a...

For my first airgun I'm very pleased with the Beeman FH500 overall. There was absolutely no comparison possible between the FH500 and my brother's older (20+ years) spring-piston rifle (although the refinished wooden stock/forestock on his looked very smart!). The zeroing/focusing of the scope took a surprisingly long time, and without the 'detent clicks' associated with higher-quality scopes I ended up turning the adjustment screws in quarter-turn increments. However, after zeroing, in an... (read more)

I just picked up my Beeman FH500 and my early review of the gun is that it is a very accurate gun right out of the box. I was able to hit the target within 1 inch or less apart at about 40' ( in my basement ) For power it tore through a pop can like it was going through paper. Not bad for 475 fps. ( Canadian version ) Ive read previous reports of wobbley barrels etc. But find mine to be tight. The trigger pull is a little heavy but I could get used to it real fast.
This weekend Im...

I am fairly pleased with this air rifle it has good accuracy packing a fair deal of powerd (enough to reduce a tin can to tatters from 10m)
I am rather dissapointed with the quality of the scope and the stock and fore stock feals a bit loose
All in all an ideal air rifle for beginners cheap accurate and a fair deal of power

I have found the Beeman FH500 a great starter rifle, being lightweight but accurate. However the scope has given problems. Sighting in at 15 yards, I am on full elevation and full left - the rifle shoots acurately on the horizontal, but I can't get better than 10cm low! There is no more travel in the scope elevation thread. Anyone else had this?? Any ideas??
The grouping is good though!

Slap on a Bushnell 4x15 or 4x32 and it will be really sweet the scope that comes with the FH 500 sucks for the particular rifle but the Bushnell 4x15 which we have on our FH 500 rocks its totaly accurate also grease up the airchamber and it will also give you some good out put as well Lithium grease works or there is a tar grease alot of people have been using as well works great.

I bought the Beeman FH500 and have killed countless birds. I was told it was not a hunting gun but proved otherwise. It's really accurate and i have found it easy to use.
Because it only takes one shot your target can get away but i don't really have a problem as it is very accurate.

The Beeman FH500 is a pretty awsome gun, however if you are not at 10M. I bought a laser sight so that when i am looking through my scope, i can tell whether i am closer or farther than 10m. It is my first gun and so far i am pleased with it. Its very accurate, pretty powerful (it punctured through 3 cardboard box laters at 10M. With the laser sight that I bought you arent confined to only using teh scope, you can just aim however, which I find is cool. (read more)

I don't have the Beeman rifle, but my father owns one. This rifle is essentially a dressed up version of the Marksman Biathelon trainer, model # 1790. I have 2 Marksman 1790's and I'm very happy with them. All 3 guns (my Marksman's and my father's Beeman) will group 5 shots under 0.25" center to center. You may not win any 10M matches with this rifle, but at that distance, no animal cracker is safe.
I gave this rifle a pretty high rating, but that's with LOTS of weight in the "value...

An accurate sufficient powered air gun.Has a built in full metal recoil reducer/silencer.The kick is hurtfull to hydroxylion atoms in your upper shoulder.Don't worry too much because the .177 pellet rifle comes with a built in recoil pad.
I would reccomend the Beeman HW35,or the Crow Magnum for hunting. The FH500 has poor killing power.
This gun is good for newbies to the gun world
(like most of you).

LOL! I cant belive you think this gun is "hurtful" to the atoms or whatever. Perhaps you are new to guns if you think this. Yes this gun does have par killing power. Not for squirrels or anything but its ok for some sparrow sniping or something. Gezz

Oh yeah, and the muzzlebreak does not act as a silencer
Written on: 22/10/2003
What a buncha rubbish...the recoil pad is nothing but plastic that's molded with the stock, it isn't soft. Stealth was right to say that the muzzle break doesn't silence the gun at all...and hurts the atoms in the shoulder? PLEASE man, you must have a mutant 500...the kick as you put it is far from painful...maybe you're holding the rifle the wrong way and shooting yourself in the shoulder?
No, not YOU...only us newbies would do that. To quote Stealth,"Geez."

I shoot my FH500 at least 4X a week and I have gone through at least 3,000 rounds since I purchased one at Walmart in Dec.'02...You can't beat the accuracy of this gun at 10m! On good days I can group 5 shots into one hole at 10-12m indoors, outdoor accuracy changes little at this range. BUT...DO NOT BUY THIS RIFLE for any "yardkills"! After reading your review i thought that buying this gun would be a big mistake as the scope isn't very good and that the reciever loosens.
When i read other reviews and they said they didn't have any problems with it i think that your gun may just be one that is faulty, you could try to exchange it for another.

Nelly...it wasn't a defect. I know a few guys who bought the gun, AFTER i bragged about it, and they ALL have the same problem with the stock loosening up on them. Now, what used to be one hole groups are starting to spread due to the stock's looseness. More so because it's a "springer". PLEASE Nelly, check out my reviews on the Crosman 664GT. I'm glad that i could help you, and please save yourself a lot of irritation...don't buy the rh500! You'll enjoy it at first...but ONLY at first. ALOHA. Do you shoot airsoft as well?

Well I got one of these little guns, rather my wife has got it for her and I bought it used. Shes a crack shot with it..the only lose part seems to be the foram plats tighten the screws up and it wil help a lot also, resetting and tighting the pivot screws will make a difference too, as this will losen off after a bit of time also a brand new gun will show this as a defect in the sucker being lose, its call breaking and seating time of a new gun, simply tighen up the screws and that shoud help if not then get some ultra slim plastic washers and set them in both sides of the barrel mouting screws and that should fix it up for you........

Overall a great gun Comes with excellent scope that can read up to 200 yards and is very accurate. Handles terrfic looks very nice and I think is a great hunting gun as I used it to bag 2 squirrels so far this year The fact that this gun is single shot rather than semi-automatic bothers me because it has great accuracy and after you fire 1 shot you have to reload enabling ur target to get away (read more)

That is amazing...your shot placement must've been right on the money because i have STOPPED shooting pidgeons because they don't go down! The gun is extremely accurate, but if you pay attention as you're looking through the scope, ANY shot beyond 15-20 yards, you can actually SEE the pellet alraedy making a downward trajectory. For 10m target shooting, this rifle is hard to beat as I can place 5 rounds into less than 1/2 an inch...but I did shoot a mongoose somewhere behind it's shoulder and it just started scratching!

I also have a FH500. Te biggest suggestion to anyone wanting to hunt is to use Beeman hunting pellets the hollow points. I have a bad problem with raccoons I normally use barrel points to detere them last month by accident I grabbed a hallow point I did put down a racoon at 30 yards so I suggest for a better take down use Beeman hollow pints with the FH 500 for hunting

This Beeman FH500 is a great gun for youngsters or someone who has never had an airgun and wants to find out if they will like it enough to invest in something better later. Very low investment, anybody can afford the $70 USD it cost!
Very accurate shooting indoors @ 15 and 25 yrds, but outdoors the accuracy really suffers as the pellet is carried away by the wind. Shot at a few crows with Beeman wadcutters within 20yrds, good hits on all of them and they just flew away! Botton line, this...
