Good Points: Ease of loading accuracy well constructed exellent sights

Bad Points: Power not up to expectations in 177 calibre

General comments: Power was increased by fitting barrel supplied for Rhom sport pistol which is approx one and a half inches longer but does not protrude beyond muzzle and still complies with uk power restrictions
a costly exersise I know but worth it if your going to hang on to this well built pistol

I would again buy this pistol as a great tool for general use in the field. Hunting
with this pistol meets my needs when i like to hunt more sporting.

Bought the Beeman P1 Magnum - .20 Caliber Air pistol and put 1500 pellets through it first week (all kinds). Likes the Beeman Hollows (bearcup) best. Shot 3/4 in groups all day (10 meters) open sights until I put A Leopold 2X on it (w/ Millet mounts & Beeman Scope Stop). Now, I can hit vitamin tablets all day. This air pistol will teach you how to shoot. It is fully capable of accuracy better than gunpowder pistols - ONLY IF YOU HOLD THE GUN CONSISTENTLY. Pick a hold and stick to it.

I'm not sure why this review section covers just the .20 version. I've got an earlier P1 in .177 and I'm sure it shares the same characteristics. While no match in power for a springer rifle, there is a satisfying "crack" when you pull the trigger and I've yet to shoot an air pistol that seems more accurate. I haven't shot any match pistols though.

The velocity of the P1 is clearly higher than the newer, overrated Diana P5 (aka RWS 5G) Magnum which purports to achieve 700 FPS, but apparently ...

The P1 is an exceptional airpistol. I(deliberately)shot a pecan out of a squirrel's mouth at 15 ft with my scoped P1, while the squirrel was walking an overhead power line. The pecan shattered, and the squirrel freaked out, unhurt.

I found the Beeman P1 a highly accurate and hard hitting spring powered pistol.
Easily took out a squirrel from 30' away with a .20 Beeman Silver Point. Highly accurate for a pistol of this size (11" over all). The .20 caliber generates 5.1 fp of energy at the muzzle, and 500 fps.
The noise level of this pistol is less than that of my RWS 48 in .177.
Excellent aesthetics overall and great to shoot!
