“45,000 miles on my 51 plate speedfight”

★★★☆☆

written by JamesGammon on 03/06/2013

I have a 50cc peugeot speedfight 51 plate I bought it off a friend last year when it only had 16,000 miles on it. My friend had done a lot of quick fixes just to sell it, since I have had it it has had a new exhaust, two new starter motors, new starter relay, full kickstart and transmission re-build. It is on stop again now, it took some time to start in the rain, it went about three miles and then when I slowed down for the junction it cut out and wouldn't start again, hoping it just needs a relay, or a fuse. the boy's down at the local garage asked me how many miles it had done when I told them about the problem, they said i was lucky i got past 20,000 miles on a speedfight. I would have liked to have bought a new bike but I thought if I bought it off a friend I was doing him a favour, so much for friends.

“The hoses on my Peugeot Speedfight tend to corrode,...”

The hoses on my Peugeot Speedfight tend to corrode, but can be snipped and reattached. Needs regular maintenance and servicing, but a good little machine to and from work.

“My Peugeot Speedfight goes about 60mph+, if I push it...”

★★★★☆

written by QwackeR on 04/06/2007

My Peugeot Speedfight goes about 60mph+, if I push it I can get 65 down hill, never let me down. Has a Leo Vince chrome exhaust, stage 6 racing clutch, 8g rollers, Malossi red air filter. A good scooter over all, I love it!

“I have owned my Peugeot Speedfight scooter for about 3...”

★★★☆☆

I have owned my Peugeot Speedfight scooter for about 3 months. I am happy with the riding position even though I am 6ft 3. I am a bit concerned with the amount of oil it is using but other than that its a great bike.

“I've had my Peugeot Speedfight Scooter for 11 months...”

★★★★☆

written by caollerton on 16/01/2004

I've had my Peugeot Speedfight Scooter for 11 months now and purchased secondhand 2 years old with 9,000 miles on it. Unbelievably in the time I've had it ive done a further 18,000 miles on it and the motor is still going well! However, that's not to say i've been without some mishaps such as my drivebelt and the occasional slip. Few of my problems included engine cutting out problems, dirty carbs, speedo cable broke, tyre worn after 18,000 miles now on 27,000 (not bad) exhaust still going after 3 years. The side panels crack easily, so be careful.

“Im a London commuter and use my Peugeot Speedfight...”

★★★★☆

written by bowman on 03/10/2003

Im a London commuter and use my Peugeot Speedfight scooter daily a good 330 days a year, except ICE, i dont like scootering on ICE and snow. I fill it up every 4th day or there abouts. its a great runner, could i guess do with some extra acceleration but then I guess you go buy a Vmax or something if u are seeking that kind of adrenalin fix.

I have ridden it across to west end all over the place, its great to park back of oxford st and do shopping then nip on home, ive ridden it in all types of weather and cross london in the early hours and the front lights seem good to me. i always ride full beam any ways so i make sure other drivers can see me.

The engine note sometimes rattles on my mind now and then and would be interested to see what after market exhaust and carb do for it.

can recomend, i see other scooters fly past me sometiems but then i see u can get scooters in all kinds of CC's

ive got a brandnew speedfight 2 in june and have put a technagas race pipe on it and derestricted it and it is quick i get 55+mph on a flat would advise you to get a technagas or leo vince pipe for it. dont get a bigger carb because can slow bike down if you dont get the right size and will drink petrol badly. tim

“Ive had a Peugeot Speedfight for around 3 years now...”

★★★★☆

written by Young boy on 01/10/2003

Ive had a Peugeot Speedfight for around 3 years now and its engine aint as good as it used to be.
Try puttin NOS (nitrous Oxide) in it on a small injection system. mine was built specially. It flys of the mark with small wheelspin and can reach top speeds of up to 70mph. this however is very bad for the scooter structure and ive had pleanty of crashes. It also screws up the engine and u will have 2 get it reconditioned after around a year and a half. Great way 2 have full and beat all your friends. Dont tell em and give em a supprise wen u come out an go for a burn.
