But I have noticed it is a bit lazy on eletric starter. Is this a common fault or not also its a bit small on seat for two apart from that the bike is good fun to ride i (read more)

i bought my 100cc 2007 rally victories model when it was just 18 months ols with 950mls on the clock, there is no arguement that it`s one of the best looking spoets scooters and being a 100 rather than 125 insurance is cheap, it came with a cat exhaust system and bog standard and would top out at 58/60 mph, not that quick but it`s a honda designed motor and there are many tuning improvements you can make if you want more speed/acceleration, it depends on your budget and technical know how... If you like drifting this is quite simple to handle while sliding round corners but it aint a vespa. Mine is preowned and was already kitted out with a fair amount of sports parts it accelarates like stink and handles really well plus looks bitching. It has broken down a couple of times but i mainly think the previous owner set it up completely wrong and did some nasty work on it and not much low end power which means i cant do any chavvie tricks without difficulty (read more)

If you want a moped, go for a Speedfight because I can't find a real fault with them. They are fast and good through town. Mine is pretty reliable, it hasn't broke down once and I even drove 120 miles on it - it went perfect and I would recommend a Speedfight to anyone. (read more)

If you do have a problem with starting it I have found a solution. What you have to do it put your foot on the stand and rock the bike back and forward for about 30 seconds. if this doesn't not work put your keys in and leave the moped on but do not start it after a few mins it will start and kick out a lot of smoke, but it always works for me.
And when leaving your bike with the keys in please stay with it - nothing worse then someone coming along and trying to steel it.

You set the bar for your friends to find a better bike than the Peugeot Speedfight. When derestricted, they are fast with 54mph, with derestricted exhaust and variator.
Overall it is a very good bike and I would recommend the Peugeot Speedfight 307 wrc 50cc. But the let down to it is to keep it on the road and maintenance and repairs ain't cheap.

I put in my 100 engine I had a 70 with a leovinchie exhaust and a 19.5 delroto carb polini vareator, and reads with a gear up kit plus a cevlar belt, but it would only do 55 tops because of the rev limit, and without a new rcdi you will not go that fast, so try again.

But now I've fixed all that for £175 that's putting performance parts on like Arrow exhaust, Malossi airfilter, Malossi variator. I fixed the kickstart and panels my self. Peugeot customer satisfaction is very poor along with parts. I've had my Speedfight for just over a year and have a number of problems with it, from a flat battery, to a new ignition switch, new speedo cable and housing unit, beacuse the speedo had corroded. No-one could look after a bike better than I have, but if the speedo goes after 1000 miles, this shows that the bike is poor quality for money, especially if they won't refund money for the new bits I have had to buy. I have had my Peugeot Speedfight 2 for two months, and I see no major problems with it!
I have had it derestricted, and have had a new exhaust fitted. It does on average about 50mph, which is fine for me!
The under seat storage is small, and I do have to fill it up a lot.
While riding in the rain, the engine has cut out, even though it is new! It did start again after a few tries though. Other than that, the speedfight 2 is a good moped, and has good acceleration, even when not...

Re. - Your bad starting problem.
This complaint sounds just like the one I had with my Yamaha XQ125 Maxster.
I replaced the plug, ensured the petrol was new and fresh ( old unleaded is pants compared to lovely good old leaded 4 or 5 star). I checked all electrical components with a multimeter. As the Maxster is a 4-stroke rather than a 2-stroke like the Speedfight, I checked valve clearances, compression and cam chain operation - but still no joy.
The battery was fully charged and the starter motor whirred away very healthily - but it still wouldn't fire.
Until I checked the operation of the automatic (electric) choke. This unit is activated by a spring loaded plunger and the needle on the end of the plunger had stuck. You test it by removing the choke unit from the carb and measure how far the needle is proud of the choke body. Switch the ignition on and measure again after 2 minutes. The needle should have moved out about 6mm. If it hasn't, then the choke is sticking. Even if it HAS moved it still may have stuck when inside the carb.
Yamaha wanted £125 + VAT for this little unit so I suspect Peugeot will want the same as both machines are made in France. (The Peugeot has a Honda derived engine and Honda parts are always dear. Honda stands for Horrendously Overpriced No Discount Available. The Yamaha isn't really a Yamaha at all - It's an MBK or Motobecane to give it it's real name - purveyors of mopeds and pushbikes to the garlic hordes for decades).
What I did was to work some penetrating oil into the choke body by pushing the needle in and out rapidly a few times after spraying the oil - or WD40 - onto the needle. This has worked fine and the choke has been OK since.
Try this and post me a message to see if it has worked.
If not, I suggest it could be lack of compression. 2 strokes are notorious for cylinder bore and piston ring wear due to their total loss lubrication system. You can buy compression testers for about £25 online but make sure you get one suitable for the correct plug size/thread AND suitable for a two stroke engine as you have to allow for primary (crankcase) compression with 2-strokes.

sounds to me like starter motor mat i had the same problem, easy to get at but a bit pricey thats all. you will probably find your electric stater won't work soon because the bearings sieze really easy.

I brought my Peugeot Speedfight scooter 1 year ago now and it has been a great scooter. It is not derestriced but 35mph is fine for me, I have alway taken care of it and it has been great to me. For some unknown reason when you are out in the wet it has just cut out on me for no reason the engine has been warmed up but somehow the water gets into the spark plugs - this is a major annoyence. The petrol tank also needs to be bigger - I have 2 fill up once a week. (read more)

Peugeot Speedfight 2 100cc Scooter
Without a shadow of a doubt its the best looking scooter around. Flawless styling and very good MPG are just two of the many good points about this scooter. The only bad points so far are the tiny fuel tank which only holds 7.2 litres of fuel, the mirrors and a bit of a dodgy automatic choke which can prevent you from opening up the throttle for the first 400 metres. There is space under the seat for a small full face helmet. But in my opinion this should...

It looks like a 16er scooter, but instead of 35mph it does over 55mph on the flat and leaps away from the lights PDQ too. Filling up with 2 stroke oil is fiddly and spoils the economy (75 MPG, but requires 1L of oil every 1000km or so @ £5/L). Brake pads run out quickly too (and I don't ride like a kid). Fuel tank is too small, but the underseat storage is good for a full face helmet. Handling is fine, I feel quite happy at it's top speed and am confident with it's stopping ability. All in...
