I have been using Ebay to buy various items for over 5 years and find it an excellent website to use. In the past five years I have had three problems with late or no show purchases but as I had signed up with paypal all issues were resolved with full refunds.
When I am looking for presents etc on the internet and find something that catches my eye I always check if that particular item is on Ebay and 7 times out of ten I can actually get it cheaper on Ebay.
I have bid on several items and I h ...- Read Bensons1's review (146 words)

Heres my honest opinion of ebay, from user of 10Y with turnover 20k, if you are buying and carefull about what you buy and who you buy it from then you will for the time being have almost exclusively positive experiences. Emphasis on carefull a fool and hios money are easily parted, As for selling, you will have plenty of negative experiences. For this reason interesting sellers are making an Exodus and whats left are sellers of Chinese imports and catalogue returns sellers, the interesting stuf ...- Read Guest's review (357 words)

Ebay is fairly good, it is very hard to sell on it. If a seller chooses PayPal then he/she would get loses of money, for sure.
Buying from Ebay is somewhat good but many of it sellers are fraud and ships the different product other then you have selected.
I won't recommend Ebay.- Read sahilkotak's review (54 words)

It is very hard to sell stuff on ebay, ebay discourages local buying/selling. It is linked to crummy paypal. Its an incredibly complicated site to use and baffles you with jargon and technical details and their rules are crass.- Read Guest's review (63 words)

I have been using ebay on and off for about two years with no problems. One night having changed some of my bank details I found that ebay refused my account. After clicking the online support button a new window opened and i was connected to a friendly lady via an ebay instant message service. She confirmed my account details and asked what the trouble was, after explaining my problem she confirmed everything with me and went off to investigate. Five minutes later we together went through all my ...- Read jazzy4488's review (233 words)

I didn't find ebay helpful when I was trying to report another user using my photos on their listing. They also changed the feedback system so only buyers can leave negative feedback which I think could enable others to potentially abuse it, I think that it is only fair that we all have the right to put our point across if a transaction went badly. I think the fees are expensive, and I don't feel there is any protection for me as a seller if items become lost in the post unless i send everythin ...- Read anon2009's review (177 words)

Ive been selling on ebay since the late 1990s and gradually the company has become worse and worse .
you will find very few sellers that have a good thing to say about ebay , most are either jumping ship or looking to .
you had a company that had great customer loyalty that was built by people telling their friends and ebay has betrayed them .
their going away from the core business auctions , their driving away small sellers in droves making the site less and less interesting .
I would advise ...- Read jonny2mad's review (257 words)

ebay has changed a lot over the past few years you could easily find it cheaper in the shops and less hassle, problem with ebay users are a lot of them are 'dumb' they would buy anything on their most of the items are damaged and useless you could probably see a desktop on their and the bids are over the top. My opinion it's not so bad but ebay has changed its become like a retail online store most of the goods are new.. its was designed so people could sell their rubbish that's up in the loft a ...- Read themaninthevan2001's review (139 words)

I have been using ebay for years but have gradually learnt that shopping on ebay can be very hit and miss. Ebay is great for buying those obscure liitle items, such as a part for your car or lawnmower, a toy from your childhood or even a box of rubber bands. However, ebay does have its bad points. Lots of them.
'As new' products are advertised all over ebay, especially in the electronics section, most of these claim to be ex-display. Some of them are returned products ie. an item which was sent ...- Read sammy344's review (298 words)

I used to use eBay all the time, both for buying and selling - mainly buying. I loved it because you seemed to be able to find almost everything you wanted at cheaper prices. Recently though, I have stopped selling because they seem to continually put the prices up, and I don't really buy any more as I have noticed the whole system has been changed, making it harder to find what you want and you seem to HAVE to pay with paypal, you cant use google checkout, which is a joke. I might start buying ...- Read JustJenny1975's review (98 words)

More and more sellers are becoming disalusioned with Ebay due to its high fees and dictatorial rules many of which are unnecessary I feel, the constant changes for change sake become a headache after a short time and the need for all sellers to list paypal an ebay company as a method of payment whilst not allowing many other payment systems is one that the monopolies commission should look into. Ebay appears to now work against the small trader and there is a good probability that many will leav ...- Read darren271071's review (180 words)

I have used ebay for some time now and have largely been a seller and occasional buyer of items. The main advantage for a seller using ebay is that there is a huge market which ebay gives you access to - potentially across the whole globe, but in reality it is better to stick to a smaller market - you own country.ebay is very very competitive - most of the items I sold where bought at wholesale, and a seller is required to sell at cut-throat rates as the costs of not having a physical premises cr ...- Read SiColl007's review (295 words)

eBay I feel now is based too much around money as now I have to submit personal information (i.e passports driving licences and then says they are lost) and they say this is all for our own security and safety protection, but it seems they only paypal as a payment method as they charged me again more money to them less to yourselfs. ebay started of well and had a good community but now I am not happy with it... I will be more careful in the future of buying and especially selling items, if you a ...- Read Guest's review (193 words)

Ebay have made it very difficult for me to sell with them anymore by inflicting feedback selling policies which will make them a lot of money in the end in my opinion. There is no more customer choice when it comes to selling. It's their way or the highway I feel therefore I do not recommend ebay.co.uk- Read Guest's review (66 words)

A poor experience for me and I do not recommend ebay.co.uk. Due to their size & now power they have banned several selling options, & now blocked sellers from relaying experiences with bad customers to warn of them I feel.
Dictatorial, was not happy with the treatment of sellers, as I felt I had to use PayPal regardless of situation, charge listing fees as well as commission for me, feedback system seems to allow bad buyers free rein, prevention of premiums to cover PayPal charges, never listen ...- Read MadScientist57's review (101 words and 1 comment)

I have been using Ebay for years as a seller and a buyer. I have lots of experience and know how Ebay works and how buyers and sellers can act. Up until recently I had faith in the system. See my bad points for my loss in faith! I will be closing up shop soon which is a shame as I enjoyed my Ebay experience.
Now all I need to do is set up my own shop website! (or find a better auction site)- Read saggiehead's review (139 words)

We have had an ebay account since 2001 and in that time we have had some great buys and sold a lot of unwanted items, but unfortunately it is getting more and more expensive to sell on ebay and the paypal fees are now getting extortionate so you have to work out if it is worth selling on ebay to start with - we are selling less then other.
The other thing to note with ebay is that you are dealing with individuals and business's that you don't now or how reputable they are so you have to be cauti ...- Read dizzyfizzy1's review (486 words)

I find I am using ebay less and less and a recent incident has caused me to consider closing my account.
I bought a windproof army smock that was described as genuine, on receipt it proved to be a fake copy, I left factual, neutral feedback for the seller the response was bordering on the psychotic in my opinion! Stating that I had asked for free postage and calling me names, unquote on complaining to ebay the reply stated that their hands were tied and th ...- Read MartinJP's review (116 words)
