I'm now fourteen new to the bmx world and this is an amazing starter bike it's light weight durable and not to pricey overall great bike but my friends got me into the bmx world and the ride Sunday funday bikes and I noticed if you mix and match with bike parts like we do lethargy Sunday parts go well with any dk bike just talking from experience (read more)

well i had a dk general lee for about 4 years and it has been a very sturdy bike and it is a good first 20 inch bmx bike and i though it was quite light the only thing i didn`t like was the big sproket so i changed the 32t sproket to a 25t sproket and what a differnts it made but do get a smaller sproket i had to replace the rear wheel to a 9t cog.but anyway the bike i an awesomely great bike and i love the bike i still have it but it i partly my little bro`s bmx.and he loves the bike aswell... well i have had my dk general lee for about 3 1/2 years ad i LOVE it. Its light and sturdy and it ok in price. mine was about $280 it was a good price. some parts wil have to be replaced. the handelbars, mine broke about a month ago , in half it really sucked but other than that its a very good bike for beginners (read more)

very nice bike, great for beginners. it is light enough to throw around but sturdy, it won't break easily. might need to replace a couple of parts on the bike if you want to get the most out of it though, upgrading the rims would be my first suggestion. even then, that isn't necessary for most riders (read more)

The DK General Lee BMX has a light frame and a strong 3 piece crank so it is reliable and great fun to jump !! I do think that the hhandle bars are a bit too big and that it needs front forks but apart form that a great BMX (read more)

The DK General Lee is a great, light bike. XCEPT that my whole left crank fell of the first 3 DAYS!! Otherwise its a great dirt bike. I like how its so light. The stem is pretty bad it makes my handlebars move a lot and the rims bend easily. other than tht its a FANTASITC,GREAT,AMAZING, bike A+++++++++ (read more)

Alright.. i bought the complete bike and it was good... for the first 10 days. i had the bike for dirt and i could do about 15-25 foot gaps. but i landed wrong and my rim moved side-side about 1 inch. i had it trued and he said id get a new rim because it was a single wall and it bent. also the stem is bad.. i exchanged it for a crown royal though. lastly the bolts... every time u try and take things OFF it strips... i mean i had it taken to staff bmx and it stripped there so its not my... For my first bike owned since I stopped riding 5 years ago, wasnt a bad choice. The only problems I've had is that the stem is crappy, and lets the handlebars move forward and backwards. The stock pedals (Wellgos) arnt that great, awful traction on em'. After about a year of hard riding(Concrete Ramps mostly, with jumping small stair sets in Boston) the bottom Bracket is starting to go, but than again, I Ain't the skinnest person anymore. Overall i think that the bike is fantastic and the paint work is the right sort of paint work you should have on a bmx because its different than all of the other paint jobs that i have seen on other bmx's. On other bmx's you would see the make of the bike and boring old sponsors but this is something else you have done a good job mate. well done (read more)

Nice bike for begginers, be carefull if you are doing proper bmx riding as opposed to riding to the shops and back!
If you want a bmx to look good and not perform well under pressure, buy the DK General Lee frame!

This is my first BMX as i used to ride mtb (I'm also going back to mtb) but i have ridden about 10 of my mates BMX's and they all personally feel pretty poor after riding my General Lee. I would advise it very strongly for new bmxers so you can ride all disciplines of BMX and find out what is best for you. (read more)

Overall, the DK General Lee BMX is a very good all round bike. It is very strong, and it can take a beating. The only trouble I have had with it is the bottom bracket and cranks coming loose and creaking. But don't let that stop you from getting it though, as I am heavy anyway, and it can be fixed by a good with the Allen keys once in a while.

This is a great bike, not just for beginners but for all riders. It is mainly a dirt jumping bike (hence the name General Lee) and the only bad thing is that both my friend and i had this frame and the dropouts tend to bend upwards on grinds, so that you can't take your wheel off but a hammer fixed that problem ;) (read more)

I started riding this Feb. So I've ridden for like 2 months. I went to Scheels and this DK General Lee bike came highly recommended for a beginner since you can't break it, mine's an 06 model which came with 3pc cranks, Welco pedals and beefy bars and stem. I've contributed so much of my progression to this bike. All I had to do to it to make it a nice street bike was throw on some pegs and I put a Teckto FX-30 front brake kit on it. I went down to Hard Time Bikes in GP Or. and one of the guys there said that it weighs 29lbs (the one he was selling me) he was selling it to me for about $200, and i guess compared to all the gt's, and nirve's and what not there, it was like the top of the line awsome bike, good for vert.. I was happy when i got it, the day after i broke my 50lb mongoose (mongoose SUCKS) the mongoose was so heavy i could barely even 180, on the DK General Lee i was able to do my first 360.. (read more)

I wrote that review 2 years ago... I feel damn stupid now... the bike isn't good for vert, maybe some light trails and some easy street, I still ride my general lee frame with other parts, but hey, im poor it's better than nothing... It's a 2003 frame... i killed the cranks doing grinds and wasted the sprocket slamming it onto ledges when doing double pegs... but yet it was a 1-piece so what do you expect... I thought the bike was bad till I really got into riding... a general is good for someone beginning trails or street or something... oh, and i lied about the 360 a few years ago, most i can spin is a 180... the bike is okay an manualing... I got pretty used to the bike, I can hop pretty high and do sprockets grinds pretty long.. I am suprised the frame even lasted this long... I am still using the same p.o.s bars, they are small... and last summer, about a year after i got the bike i busted my back hub at the skatepark, but got that replaced... i blow out bearings every week... soon i will have my new better setup

General LEE is not only the name of a confederate civil war general, but it is also the name of a 1969 Dodge Charger from the Dukes Of Hazzard and if you are so stupid that you haven't even heard of the show, THEN WATCH THE MOVIE.

I have had this General Lee frame from DK for about a year. It has been thru numerous bails, handrail attempts, cased gaps. I have cracked 3 frames within a year period - diamond back, haro and Gt. This bike can take anything you can and is worth the money if you can find the old models not the new completes that are for little kids - they are horrible. The orange paint did come off kind of easy. (read more)

well... bro.. if you really want a durable frame you gotta get something more solid... people say 4130 chrome made frames are too easy to bend and warp but i find it fine... get something like a Fit or Volume, Wethepeople or something... short chainstays and gussets if u plan on going heavy... since you probably aren't very far into your rider life american or euro bb's don't really matter..

You do understand that this bike is based off the General Lee car from Dukes of Hazard, right? It's painted orange because the General Lee is orange. A white General Lee bike would be just plain dumb.
