I AM QUITE DISAPPOINTED IN MY PURCHASE SO FAR. THE IMPORTANT PART OF THE RIFFLE FOR ME IS THE ACCURACY. THE RIFFLE IS EITHER VERY PELLET FUSSY OR THE HIGHER VELOCITY CHARACTER OF THE RIFFLE IS HAVING AN EFFECT ON THE PELLETS. I HAVE THE STANDARD AIR TUBE ON MY TK WHICH IS 220MM LONG AND THE STATED 28 SHOTS POSSIBLE IS NOT CORRECT. I FIND THAT THE AMOUNT OF VERY TIGHT SHOTS IN A GROUP IS ABOUT FIVE AND I HAVE TO CONSTANTLY ADJUST USING MIL DOTS TO COMPENSATE. I WILL HAVE TO SPEND MORE MONEY... (read more)

Bought HW90 full power 26 bar in .22, picked up a 400psi/40bar raleigh bicycle shock pump and the theoben valve connector to vary the gas shock pressures. At the full 26 bar it was very loud and inaccurate from the box, cocking effort left my arm feeling like id a blood pressure band on. Bit of barrel droop prevented me getting the scope onto point of aim with a dampamount, ran out of elevation adjustment. i will admit the hw 90 gas ram which has no spring just the theoben gas ram in it is one of the best hunting rifles ever made the reason the hw90 is so good is the German weihrauch frame it is solid and heavy and with the theoben gas ram or strut as some call it it makes a very good target shooter as-well. theoben guns have no weight and the strut they made never worked in them. weihrauch made heavy guns but they never liked the springs in them.they should have had struts in them the 90 is so easy to take up to 16ftb and it shoots better than at 12ftlb.my weihrauch 90 hc 2.2cal at 16ftb is as accurate as my air arms pro sport in 1.77 weihrauch 90 deadly accurate and deadly. weihrauch hw98 looks great but shoots like a pig trust me if you do get one leave a review on how bad it is. my guns AA pro sport in 1.77 and 2.2 AAs400 in 2.2 webley raider 10xs in 2.2 webley alecto pistol in 1.77 weihrauch hw90 hc in.2.2 and 1.77 at 16ftlb the ultimate hunting rifle take the advice i have given it is for you to buy the best gun and not buy a pig in a poke the guns i have all have 10/10 ratings whith 30 years of experience of buying rubbish

hunting gun.In 18 ft/lb,it can easily nail any small game and once I made
a perfect kill of a fox.It was a brain shot and the distance was 43 yards

it in my possesion for 16 years and I faced no problem at all.In all aspects

Barracuda (kodiaks) 21 grains pellets are probably too heavy as its the piston seal that will be punished time and time again. BKL260 1 pce mounts seem to be a good mount. Very nice weapon.
I live in Denmark where the pressure is not restricted. That gives you full power for hunting.
I have had a little trouble because I bought a cal. 4.5 and that is too small. I'm changing it to 5.5.
Needs good bullets.
If anybody has experience with changing the pressure I would like to hear about it.
My brand new scope was spoiled in less than 5 shots.
Now I know better. A very resistant scope and a dapa mount is needed. But at that point you can't get anything better.

Here in Denmark where we do not have any restictions on airguns, so it comes full power. and power it has... 22 ft/lbs is almost too much for my needs. I don't really hunt, just a rat now and then, mostly target shooting, and that it does with grace. The 6 interchangeable sights that comes with it, makes it easy to find the one that suites one best! If you have it full power from the factory, you do not need to worry about the pressure for many years! If you do pump it up further, it will only get harder to cock, and damage the guns internals. The power will not increase very much! You can release it's pressure to shoot more accuratly with certain pellets, and then pump it up to full pressure (26 bar) but not more than that!
Written on: 12/01/2007
The gas ram can be adjusted for more or less power with a simple pump. Remember though 12 ftlbs is the legal limit. HW 90 can be safely put up to 24 ftlbs but operates best at 18ftlbs
Written on: 09/02/2008
no you don't have to pump the gun up after so many shots it never reduces in pressure if u wnt to pump it up buy a stirrup pump and the adapter for the gun

We're not in the UK, the limit is 26 bar , max as stated on the gun.

you need the valve connector for the hw90 availible from the t w chambers website, i just bought a raleigh 400psi bicycle shock pump and shrader valve couplings from a local air line / compressor shop to fit the theoben connector direct to the pump with a bit of ptfe tape. you just remove the screw at the very back of the airgun (bit furthest from the muzzle). takes a good few pumps before the pressure builds. mine is stamped 26bar but i run it round 20 bar. think its about 15bar for 12 ft lbs

A one piece mount for this isnt mandatory, rather advisable. Scope stops are available in UK from chambersgunmakers or Weihrauch and Beeman in US. Two-piece dampa-mounts work just as well and don't cost quite as much as a reasonable one-piece mount at UK/US prices

Written on: 19/05/2006
My rifle caliber is .22. adjusting power: at the back face of power chamber you will find a screw, unscrew it you will find a knob inside small stroks on the knob with flat headed brass nail will release some air pressure from the chamber. check it with chrono graph find your suitable power to handle. but remember power once you reduced can't gain unless you have special dedicated pressure pumb.

Correction, power is not just as good as a Patriot. The HW90 is a 19-20 ft lb gun at full power; the Webley Patriot (Kodiak) is about 27 ft lbs. Both very powerful, but the Webley is ahead by a margin. Gas ram or spring doesn't matter.

The only flaw with my Weihrauch HW90 was the varnish, so i stripped it, and oiled the wood. This gives it a natural look and it feels a lot more pleasant.
I also transformed my hw90 into a hw90K. A risky busisness but worth every drop of sweat (fear that is) Grouping: standing :1 inch at 30 yards
sitting :1/2 inch at 30 yards.Power : at this time it shoots 14.6 grns.H&N FTS at 800 fps. witch translates in app. 22 ft/lbs.
All in all the best buy before you go pcp.

ive a new fac rated 22ft lbs hw90 and i'm considereing cutting the 500mm (19.5") barrel back down to a nicer 410mm (16.5") barrel length? bought a new barrel for the cutting/recrowning and threading 1/2x20 unf....hoping all goes well without loosing accuracy or making the airgun more uncomfortable to shoot if recoil increases....urs sounds like it went well

The Weihrauch HW90 is the best performer yet from the Weihrauch stable. The ideal hunting weapon in all respects, the gas ram is a boon for hunters since it allows the weapon to be cocked for long periods of time between shots. The safety is also very positive and the single stage trigger is smooth. I find that the gun is terribly inaccurate with lighter pellets at longer ranges, probably due to the high velocity. With the beeman crow magnum pellets or the H&N silhouette the gun performs... (read more)

I have a Beeman R1, which is the Weihrauch HW90 with a spring piston. This gun chrony's at 14.4 fps with Crossman Premiere 14.3 grain pellets--plenty enough power for me. Question? I would like to put a sling on this rifle, but I am wary of clamping to the barrel. Being an old competitive rifle shooter (.22 and .308 U.S. Army team) I know that attaching anything to a barrel changes the damping pattern, and hence the accuracy. I would think a barrel band on a springer (spring or gas ram) would affect accuracy, so I've chosen to go "slingless". Anyone out there have any experience accuracy testing with sling installed?

You state "this gun chrony's at 14.4 fps" I assume you made a typing error. What is the correct fps?

I have fitted a Webley Pro silencer on my Weihrauch HW90 air rifle in place of the standard barrel weight - and this is great on my K version.
An excellent all rounder

An excellent rifle from Weihrauch. The Theoben gas system works like a charm. Lots of power. (read more)

Beeman RX2 & HW90 - same gun.

Except the Beeman RX2 has a nice laminated wood stock, thus a little heavier than the HW90.

hi my name is marc i have just bought a hw90 and find it amazing but just wondering, do you have to have the gas ram pumped up after so many shoots? I would be grateful if any one would let me know, thanks.

barrel droop was too much to live with even with a compensating mount, angle of the scope so extreme that the front sight blurred the image through the glass.... so disappointed im taking it back to the dealer to address my issues. couldnt use the recommended dampa mount without ten pieces of taped over coke can as a scope shim... gutted
