The Sony Ericsson T300 is a very good mobile phone in many ways, it's got a good shape, size, and is very well designed both externally and internally. A bad thing I can sadly say about it though, is that to take pictures, you need to attach a camera to it, and that's not as practical, but except for that, I can agree that that is a very good mobile phone for a lot of people..

The Sony Ericsson T300 is basically a cheap and cheerful camera phone. I have had this phone for a year and a half and have had no problems what so ever. The phone has not crashed once and it is in use every single day. The only problem I have with this is the text is slow in reacting. I can be typing a message and it can take a few seconds to catch up.
The battery life is excellent, I recently took it away on holiday for 7 days, made dozens of phone calls and there was still life in the phone after all that time. I also found the reception in Europe to be excellent.
The camera attachment can be a pain and is not ideal to take the camera with you all the time. The picture quality is not very good and there are similar phones with much better quality.
I would recommend this phone but only to someone who isnt bothered with taking pics and more bothered with reliability.

“I have had my T300 for 7 months now, I can just say...”

★★★★☆

written by m0rPh3u5 on 30/07/2004

I have had my T300 for 7 months now, I can just say "IT IS A GREAT PHONE!!": it is cheap, color, polyphonic, you can download games, themes, pictures, sounds, screensavers and so much more. The screen quality is average, but very good, for a 256 color-screen. Pictures taken with camera don't look good on it, but you have to accept the fact that the phones screen acts just as a viewfinder; if you download the pictures to your PC (via IRDA or e-mail), they look perfect!
WAP, email, MMS are easy to use.
Battery-life is good, between 3(in case of 20 min talk per day + browsing wap 20-30 min per day + play games 15-20 min) to 6 days, but not less!!!
The aspect of the phone ia a bit strange but it has kind of a retro look that I find attractive.
Has many attachable accessories, like: 16bit MCA-25 camera with internal memory, zoom and effects; MP3 player; FM radio; Bluetooth.
The pone has a lot of cool features, the only "-" point is that it has no calendar, but really...how often would you use it if it had?...
Sound and signal quality are great, I had absolute no problems with my T300.

As for those who don't like it, I can only ask them what other phone can you buy with 70$ that is better? What do you expect more from it? If you want a super phone go buy a P900, but don't expect from a T300 to fore fill all of your fantasies. I mean, God, it is only a phone...

“I bought the Sony Ericsson T300 mobile last may and up...”

★★★★★

written by PhilHarris68 on 22/07/2004

I bought the Sony Ericsson T300 mobile last may and up until I got rid of it for a brand spanking new Sony Ericson P900, the only real problem I had with it was the joystick wasn't exactly responsive. It sometimes required 3-4 presses at a time. Also the front facia had a tendancy to fly off when you dropped it on carpet. When I got it, it was a cutting edge phone and personally I wish I hadn't given it to a friend who needed a phone as her's failed. She loves it as well, but wishes that the camera was built in. I paid £100 on O2 pay as you go with camera and I never regreted it at all. Since I gave the T300 away I have stuck with Sony Ericsson cause I was so impressed by it and I don't think that I will ever stray from them again.
The phone is really simple to use. The menu screen has a simple to understand 9 picture layout, which you can shorcut to buy pushing the relavent number on the keyboard. Reception was always good (4-5 bars out of 5) battery life could have been better. PC connectivity was on a level par with the P900, i.e. fabulous. You could take a photo with the attachable camera save it in your phone memory, attach a infared reciever to your PC and send it to store on your computer hardrive. Perfect. Also you could back up everything including phone book, txt messages, MMS, wap protocola the lot, with the correct program (www.mobileaction.com)Todays price is probably dead cheap about £20-50, my advice is to buy it!!!

★★★☆☆

written by phels on 14/07/2004

After smashing my Nokia 8310 on a night out I quickly went out to get a replacement, I found a Sony Ericsson T300 mobile phone for £40 and with a colour screen thought it was a bargain. At first I was pleased but then wanted my 8310 back, lots of little things let this phone down. The screen is very poor quality and any photograph you download to it will look rubish and the organiser is crap compared to nokias callender. You cannot just type out a phone number to save you have to enter it through the phone book, you also cannot save numbers from from when somone has sent you a text message. The battery life is terrible, with only a few calls mine was dead in about a day or so's time. Signal varied, some areas were fine but other times it was having trouble getting one bar - this is not a problem ive ever had before.

Yea yea im biased to nokia but I dont care, this phone is stil no good.

This Sony Ericsson T300 phone is not bad, but when you have it for a couple of months prepare to sell! The phone has good looks to start with then they just look rubbish and the camera couldnt take a picture if you stared it in the lens! The screen is only 256 colours and that can make colour applications look rubbish. You will be wanting to get a more colourful better phone later on so I would suggest to avoid this phone!

A really bad phone, bad reception, bad style, bad reliability, bad everything. My phone only yesterday wouldn't do anything at all, I had to remove the battery to turn it of. My phone has had stupid problems like this from after the 1st month. Avoid this phone at all cost.

I have had the Sony Ericsson T300 mobile phone for about 4 months. It is very cute but there are many places I dont get reception. Also the camera does not take very good pics. When I first got the phone I had to excange it right away because the battery would not charge. The t-mobile store I went to was an even bigger headache and they had terrible customer service and didnt know a thing about their own phones. I am now having battery problems again. I would not recomend this phone to anyone at all. I should have went with the nokia like I had planned.

written by cornish6 on 10/11/2003

The first time I bought a Sony Ericsson T300 and it completly broke, now i have a new one, it's ok but it can get very glitchy. The camera simply cannot produce with a screen with only 256 coulors, photos look odd and its hard to make out things. The polyphonic ringtones are good quality, unlike the games which get boring quickly. Overall this is a phone that has been made too quickly and too cheaply to be good. I thing it has a nice design but thats a matter of opinion.

The Sony Ericsson T300 mobile phone is BAD, BAD BAD. It has cool features but the reception is terrible. I was downtown Chicago and could only pull one bar! My old Sony Ericsson T28 was a much better phone. I took it to my carrier NPI Wireless, they would not give me a new phone. DO NOT BY THIS PHONE!

“I just got the Sony Ericsson T300, i have been waiting...”

★★★★★

written by PhilipVass on 28/08/2003

I just got the Sony Ericsson T300, i have been waiting ages to get this mobile phone as i could not afford it i got a Panasonic GD67 which is similar but nothing like the quality of the Sony Ericsson T300. Firstly with the T300 when i got it you can see the box was well designed not that it matters. Compared to the GD67 the menus are much more advanced and take you further. The pholyphonic tones beat the Nokia by allot, Nokias loose value quickly the 3510i is now only 60 pounds new where as the T300 is still up there in the high end of the market still i have seen it at 219 pounds. So if i ever wanted to sell the phone i would profit easy, i have used an old Ericsson once, it would be about 1997 model what i noticed first was it was much more advanced than any other phone, i noticed how good the ringtones were and you could see the quality and it was a 5 year old phone, the T300 is likely to last a good few years.
Ive had too many problems with my GD67 so i kept it 1 month and got the T300 a pretty good upgrade if you ask me.
The camera is very light, i like the pictures it takes it could be better however with a 256 colour screen it is impossible to have true colour until it is emailed to the PC. The quality is better than a webcam providing you took a good picture with plenty of light the pictures are very good but not as good as your realy expensive phones. It's good i am sure i will have fun with it.
Buying this phone has solved all my problems the GD67 you could'nt deleate all your SMS messages at once with the T300 there is a delete all function, be grateful because not many phones do yet.
Games are outstanding you can see the quality and it is good you can download more.
I was thinking of the T68i becuase it was cheaper but it had no polyphonic tones and not all features of the camera worked so this was the only one worth buying allthough the T68i looks more sleek.
I can hardly fault the phone, people who write the bad reviews are people who have owned phones with - better screen res and more expensive so thier views are dim.
I would def. buy more Sony Ericssons in the fuuture as they are soo good i use to own a Nokia 3330 and they are soo basic, everyone had them however Sony and Nokia make the best phones allround, easy to get bits for ect.. I love this phone soo much to do with it and i have a datacable i think if you have money buy a realy goos phone, if you are on a budget this is the only choice, no other phone comes close, one word 'Outstanding'

“I thought the T300 was a nice wee phone, but I got to...”

★★☆☆☆

written by eden007 on 19/08/2003

I thought the T300 was a nice wee phone, but I got to dislike it more and more the longer I had it. Basically when you have a number of SMS in your SMS memory the whole phone processes slow down. I.e. if you want to access the phone book, all you see is an egg timer (like in Windows) for several seconds. The voice quality is not very good, sometimes I was very difficult to understand - I was told. This had nothing to do with the network, but with the phone, because I tried the same location with a NOKIA 3310 which I am using now. The menu is not very logical either - being used to Nokia logic. It is not compatible for sending/receiving data via Infrared to and from other phone makes. I lost half my phone numbers because I had sent them via Infrared to the T300. It only transmits the person's name, not the number. Then it says it has this great organizer functionality. I was used to using this in my Nokia (8310) and had all my friend's birthdays in there - and other reminders too. From my Nokia phone I never got a "Memory full" info. The T300 only takes 20 entries...
Good points... well. Nice colour display. Nice polyphonic sounds etc. But I just got fed up with it. Ebay is great for these things... :o)

Ive had my Sony Ericsson T300 for about four to five months now and to tell the truth i absolutely hate the thing it never works the colour is absolute rubbish the plastic housing got broke and you cannot get spare parts for them they should be taken off the market they are a totall rip off.the camera puts out such a bad quality that i dont even use the thing and to send a colour pic is a lot of messing around. to be honest if you are looking for a colour phone you are looking in the wrong place i would not reccomend this phone to annyone. The nokias are the ones to get if you want quality but on the conturary if your looking for a phone that will give you problems and cost you money well then i do recommend this one.

written by usaidwhat. on 01/07/2003

I have owned a T300 for over 6months now and I would have to say overall I am slightly disappointed. On the surface this is a great handset, nice and chunky so if you drop it it shouldn't do it any harm.

I found that the colour screen was nice, but if you want to use the camera attachment the screen simply isn't good enough. Having said that this is probably the cheapest colour screen phone available and is good value for money.

Polyphonic ringtones are great and you can download new ones for free using WAP. Also colour pictures and logos are widely available by WAP download.

Overall this phone isn't bad but if you're looking for a decent camera phone you'd best look elsewhere. Games on this handset aren't bad but most downloads aren't free so there are only 6 or so available without paying.
