The Sony Ericsson T300 is a very good mobile phone in many ways, it's got a good shape, size, and is very well designed both externally and internally. A bad thing I can sadly say about it though, is that to take pictures, you need to attach a camera to it, and that's not as practical, but except for that, I can agree that that is a very good mobile phone for a lot of people.. The Sony Ericsson T300 is basically a cheap and cheerful camera phone. I have had this phone for a year and a half and have had no problems what so ever. The phone has not crashed once and it is in use every single day. The only problem I have with this is the text is slow in reacting. I can be typing a message and it can take a few seconds to catch up.
The battery life is excellent, I recently took it away on holiday for 7 days, made dozens of phone calls and there was still life in...

I have had my T300 for 7 months now, I can just say "IT IS A GREAT PHONE!!": it is cheap, color, polyphonic, you can download games, themes, pictures, sounds, screensavers and so much more. The screen quality is average, but very good, for a 256 color-screen. Pictures taken with camera don't look good on it, but you have to accept the fact that the phones screen acts just as a viewfinder; if you download the pictures to your PC (via IRDA or e-mail), they look perfect!

I bought the Sony Ericsson T300 mobile last may and up until I got rid of it for a brand spanking new Sony Ericson P900, the only real problem I had with it was the joystick wasn't exactly responsive. It sometimes required 3-4 presses at a time. Also the front facia had a tendancy to fly off when you dropped it on carpet. When I got it, it was a cutting edge phone and personally I wish I hadn't given it to a friend who needed a phone as her's failed. She loves it as well, but wishes that the... (read more)

After smashing my Nokia 8310 on a night out I quickly went out to get a replacement, I found a Sony Ericsson T300 mobile phone for £40 and with a colour screen thought it was a bargain. At first I was pleased but then wanted my 8310 back, lots of little things let this phone down. The screen is very poor quality and any photograph you download to it will look rubish and the organiser is crap compared to nokias callender. This Sony Ericsson T300 phone is not bad, but when you have it for a couple of months prepare to sell! The phone has good looks to start with then they just look rubbish and the camera couldnt take a picture if you stared it in the lens! The screen is only 256 colours and that can make colour applications look rubbish. You will be wanting to get a more colourful better phone later on so I would suggest to avoid this phone! The first time I bought a Sony Ericsson T300 and it completly broke, now i have a new one, it's ok but it can get very glitchy. The camera simply cannot produce with a screen with only 256 coulors, photos look odd and its hard to make out things. The polyphonic ringtones are good quality, unlike the games which get boring quickly. Overall this is a phone that has been made too quickly and too cheaply to be good. I thing it has a nice design but thats a matter of opinion. (read more)

I thought the T300 was a nice wee phone, but I got to dislike it more and more the longer I had it. Basically when you have a number of SMS in your SMS memory the whole phone processes slow down. I.e. if you want to access the phone book, all you see is an egg timer (like in Windows) for several seconds. It lies good in the hand but it feels fragile, the battery doesn't clip well which gives me this annoying feeling it will fall out. The thing you have to remember is that the t300 is a budget, entry level mobile phone. It doesn't have the same quality of workmanship as let's say, the samsung v200. The software is old(used on the t68) and so shouldn't be expected to perform excellently, although sonyericsson have had time to perfect it. The camera is a let down, but what can you expect a camera to produce when it's produced for a phone which can only display 256 colours. Get a phone that can do 65k. You gat what you pay for. If the phone cost loads then i'd sympathise completely with you, i know i'm a little annoyed at mine, but in comparison to other camera phones it offers great value for money (unless you were ripped off).

whoa there tiger!!! I never said Nokia is the way to go. Many people think that as Nokias are built solid and have a good rep amongst the masses but don't forget that Nokia doesn't offer everything.
For a start, their phones display a maximum of 4096 colours. The Nokia 3650 has a video camera. What kind of manufacturer combines both these features in a monstrosity of a phone - Nokia, and....only Nokia. What were they smoking. (can i write that?). The result is poor contrast and the sort of picture quality that makes you gag if you've experienced a Phone which can display 65,000 colours. Samsung, Sharp and panasonic all produce top of the line masterpieces which i can only bow to. I've had my Samsung V200 for over a month now. It performs like a dream. Faster at turning on than the T300 and superior in EVERY way. Wap is faster, ringtones clearer, charging faster and it's definately more asthetically pleasing. The T300 was good value for money, and the first affordable camera phone. But in a matter of months, it has been surpassed by other manufacturers. They also got things the wrong way round. See, the charger is light and well designed, and the phone...well, the effort was there but it could just have been the guys at sonyerisson letting the work-experience lad have a go at designing a phone. Oh, and one last thing. If you're after a camera phone, consider this. In about 6 months time, camera phones will be banned from areas where children are present and video conference calling will probably leave most handsets incapable of the feature obsolete.
Once again, please don't just consider a nokia due to past successes (32xx, 33xx and 82xx series handsets). If they work for you, and i just can't convert you to another manufacturer then i'll just have to survive. But Samsung make electronic parts for most phone manufacturers and themselves. It may have Nokia, motorola or Sagem printed on it but it's running on samsung technology. Think about it....
Sorry about the extra long review there folks. Just to let you know, i do agree with you points Ben and i'm not faulting you with your Nokia dependancy but i just don't like following the crowd. I want to stand out. My Samsung V200 does it. I think it's a V205 in your part of the world, ben. It's one awesome phone.
