    I just love Petersen's words. I think they get to the very essence of God's message! I particularly like his re-wording of the Lord's Prayer. I find it a good version of the Holy Scripture for 'new' christians, if I may use the term. Good language which doesn't leave the reader confused.

    Eugene Peterson created this paraphrase of the Bible from the Greek and Hebrew manuscripts, not by simply paraphrasing from an existing translation. That gives this work much more credibility and accuracy than other paraphrases that have been done in the past. It is easy to read and often offers some beautiful "nuggets" of Scripture that really bring out the meaning of God's Word. The latest version now includes the entire Old and New Testaments, something many of us have been anxiously await ...

    Although this interpretation may not be to everyone's taste, it offers a modern day approach that can be understood by all. I feel that this book will help the younger generation understand Christianity and what it stands for. The readers should know however, take the meaning conveyed by the message at face value, but compare it with a real translation.
