“Young driver nightmare ”

As a young driver you'd of thought that the insurance company would back you up in the event of an accident, but not with tesco, the other driver accepted liability for the accident and me and a whitness heard this, however the insurance company will not listen due to how easy it is for them to blame me entirely, this means that I'm just another statistic that they can use to increase their premiums on other young male drivers, their is solid evidence that proves I wasn't at fault but they… Read Full Review

“Lack of information leading to charges to cancel.”

Unfortunately my car did not pass it's MOT so I phoned to cancel my policy. I was informed that it would cost me £40 to cancel and that this information was given to me back in Nov 2013 and I was to remember and recall this information. I also got the impression that if I did not have a car there and then to transfer the policy too I would have to cancel it. Basically they were going to get this money out of me one way or another. I have been with tesco car insurance for 4 or 5 years, I've had a new car and have gone to renew my insurance and they've put it up sky high, same size engine etc no changes! Over £1200 a year they want, I've had quotes from other insurers and there all averaging £400-£600 a year, apparently tesco will not and can not be lower so iam going with another insurer deeply disappointed ! “Poor Handling of motor insurance claim”

I represent a policyholder with Tesco Bank Box Insurance. The Policyholder was involved in a "no blame accident" on 8 May 2015. The other parties Insurers conceded 75% liability. This was disputed and Tesco agreed that the other party should accept full liability. Nearly 4 months later the liability issue remains unresolved. “Nightmare sorting out Tescos after rear crash wrote us...”

* Third party company quibbled because I happened to have a hire car elsewhere not connected to incident. Hours on the phone sorting it all out. Days extra waiting for cover car. 30-40 minutes listening to T&C's before go ahead. Then their website wouldn't accept my details until they fixed their end. “Delay tactics, excuses and fabrications”

Despite the claim being straightforward, with the other party accepting full responsibility, Tesco Bank choose to sit on money which is due to my son. After telephoning them, he was told the cheque was in the post. After waiting three weeks and no cheque in sight, he telephoned again and this time it was: no, the cheque actually wasn't in the post, they must have got confused before, say the company. “WORST AFTER CARE EVER RECEIVED”

After my son having an unfortunate accident after only 12 days of driving with the Tesco Bank Box insurance, four days later we have still not resolved closing the insurance down and not claiming. We have wasted several hours being put on hold, and then when we did speak to a person they gave mixed and conflicting information and consistently told different advise with regards to the same incident. Tesco car insurance is rubbish/terrible/awful, I bought a new car with a less powerful engine only one year newer less on road tax, and I also removed two people from my policy leaving myself. whilst away on holiday Tesco insurance canceled my daughters car insurance for not sending her noclimes proof when she took out her new policy, it was good she wasn't using her car to go to the airport and now we have 30 days to wait for a refund. I had two car accidents after 24 years clean and Tesco's were brilliant. The claim department were kind, helpful and couldnt do enough to help me. They accessed my car within 7 days of accident, made me an offer with 9 days. Only down side, they quoted me an extra 45 pounds a month extra for my car renewal that I had to leave. I left Tesco insurance cancelled the insurance as we had a better quote. but they still don't get the message the direct debit was cancelled and keeps reappearing (we keep cancelling it) constant post from them saying we have outstanding insurance payments we ring up we send another set of papers back, really fed up it was on automatic renewal, we didn't realise but even though we try everything to cancel it bounces back, we told them in plenty of time to cancel but back it bounces… Read Full Review

I have a car insured with tesco, we had a 50/50 claim as they couldnt prove i was not at fault, which is fair enough, but the customer service received from the personal injury department when i was asking how the other party can claim so much in a less than 5mph bump was shocking!! general customer service is ok but i have spoken to several different people in personal injury and they are all terrible!
