“Highway robbery”

If you have occasion to change vehicle during the insurance period be ready to get charged heavy.. I changed my car 3 months into the years policy to a car two years older in a lower insurance group lower value I was charged and extra £95 plus a £20 admin fee. I was shocked but basicly told "Nothing to do with us guv, all down to the underwriters" Guess who the Underwriters are??? Yeah Tesco bank!! “Cancelled my insurance at £80 loss”

Whilst I found them helpful the Tesco policy is rubbish and the automated email system does not recieve.documents like it says it does. I now find any quotes to be almost £200 more and have lost out on other quotes at the time and I've lost £80 to Tesco as that's what they are charging me- I'm hoping they can do a gesture of good will as I did send the documents as they asked and I have proof but they can't check until Monday. After having my vehicle driven into by another motorist in 2013 and even before my vehicle was towed away, Tesco put me in touch with Albany Assurance to organise a supposed 'courtesy car'. Do not go with tesco i have been with them for 5yrs now never made claim nothing. There renewal always comes back £200 more and if you request things like wrong fuel, spare key and also ask bout courtesy car they will tell you yes its included, but when you have accident and make claim you are refuse this service even though you are paying for it and made sure you would receive this in the event you have accident they say sorry you have to wait 2 weeks for engnier to look at vehicle then you… Read Full Review

This is my fourth year with Tesco car insurance I wouldnt go elsewhere. Iv had an accident which resulted in a write off was all sorted and settled within 2 weeks. I have also had to have a new windscreen and was all sorted within 24 hours. Everytime i have spoken to them they have been helpful. I would definitely recommend to stay away from Tesco bank insurance. It sounds like a great deal at the start with nice options to chose from. However, beware if your car breaks down and you have to cancel your policy.They will take as much money as they can from you! Be very careful with Tesco car insurance. We bought through them as it was the cheapest at the time but would strongly suggest that you look elsewhere. Attractive low premiums aside, once you have bought the insurance, they are the worst company to deal with. “Hugely inflated premiums”

I had my Honda civic insured with Tesco for one year and paid £380 for my policy. When it came to renewal time they quoted me almost double that. I then went on to compare the market where they quoted me £340. I then changed vehicle to a VW up and was told that my premium would be £658. I told them I could get it through Lloyds for £246. Had a crash which wasn't my fault, witnesses gave statements to both the police and tesco saying it wasn't my fault, still they try to blame me as I am a young driver. We asked tesco to spend some time and money to reconstruct the crash using computers and they are extremely certain this kind of technology doesn't exist, which is not true at all, millions of other websites are available for myself if need be but no, they are sure they don't exist, I wrote the car off in August 2015, had to wait… Read Full Review

I'm currently having the same issues with tesco as a young driver, unfortunetly there's no witnesses to the accident and as such my own insurer is trying to get me to accept 100% libility. Im currently contacting citizens advice and i'll be getting in touch with trading standards aswell. They havent given me any support and take weeks to respond to any email i send. I hope you get more help soon!
I wouls uggest also contacting citizens advice and they are impartial and usually very good with your rights as a consumer. good luck!

“first time drivers worse nightmare”

Do not take their first time drivers insurance. They are poor communicators and if you have an accident which isn't your fault they will not support you. 11 months after taking insurance. Another driver wrote off the car, instead Of helping they claimed that when the black box was fitted the engineer noticed a sticker in the window which is a modification,therefore my claim was void.
