I had two car accidents after 24 years clean and Tesco's were brilliant. The claim department were kind, helpful and couldnt do enough to help me. They accessed my car within 7 days of accident, made me an offer with 9 days. Only down side, they quoted me an extra 45 pounds a month extra for my car renewal that I had to leave. I have just got a quote from Tesco to insure a second car and got quoted £1300!!!!! I left Tesco insurance cancelled the insurance as we had a better quote. but they still don't get the message the direct debit was cancelled and keeps reappearing (we keep cancelling it) constant post from them saying we have outstanding insurance payments we ring up we send another set of papers back, really fed up it was on automatic renewal, we didn't realise but even though we try everything to cancel it bounces back, we told them in plenty of time to cancel but back it bounces… Read Full Review

My sons car was stolen. Thief caught and convicted in 9 days. One month after theft tesco have not even authorised a repair or right off...which also means no courtesy car. Total pass the parcel call centre antics. I expected better from tesco. Never deal with them again… Read Full Review

I have a car insured with tesco, we had a 50/50 claim as they couldnt prove i was not at fault, which is fair enough, but the customer service received from the personal injury department when i was asking how the other party can claim so much in a less than 5mph bump was shocking!! general customer service is ok but i have spoken to several different people in personal injury and they are all terrible! I had insurance with Tesco as I thought they were good. I cancelled my policy by post and by email when I sold my current car. Anyway, on a forecourt in cheshire I decided to call them regarding insuring a different car. I explained I had cancelled my previous policy by letter and email but wished to rejoin. Bought a new car, asked for a new quote for it which costs £90!!!!!! Then they said it would be £40 to cancel and I need to pay off the remaining breakdown cover costing another £40!!!! got some good quotes online and chose Tesco who weren't the cheapest but I felt have a good reputation due to their stores. Several months later I move to another area and tell Tesco. Never go with the tesco bank INSURENCE. Worse communication- terrible service - useless- they will make you to feel sorry for ur self. They will make up anything to stress your life out keep cancel your INSURENCE and get your record looks worse that you can't even go with any other insurance. Sad but that's what tesco does. “Black box insurance idea seriously flawed ”

as an 18 year old driver the only way I could afford insurance was to have my car fitted with a black box, however i live in Cornwall where most roads out of the towns are national speed limits roads and in most cases safe to drive at 50-60mph but the box doesn't agree, i am constantly marked down every month for my speed despite sticking to all speed limits, this is because i regularly reach 50-60mph on country roads. only positive is the price for first time policy holders is lower but bare… Read Full Review

“Good driver treated like dirt”

So i got my first car in april 2014 its a 1.1 04 peugeot 206 it cost me £1263 to insure with the black box, i have done 500 miles in my first year and every month i got 100 bonus miles (keeping in mind their stats say only 27% of drivers got the full amount) so my renewal came up. Despite getting full bonus miles every month and proving i am a safe driver they still wanted £735 i have since gone with admiral (no blackbox) for £686 thats £50 cheaper. Had our car referred to an approved garage for repair. The approved garage ( nationwide) did a real number on our car....actually re-sprayed it a different colour!! Had a collision whilst reversing because a stupid young girl sped behind me trying to get the space. Apoarently it's my fault and they won't fight it.
