Tesco bank car insurance just mass was time, loss your money and time plus stress... come and i ask me i had been with them for 2 years i seen nightmare,,, also they do not defend their driver as much they defend third party....

We had switch to tesco last month, they came back with a very competitive quote for us with 9 years protected no claims, hubby got hit up the back last year but other person done a disappearing act, so payout was from our insurance, coz we had protected it was fine, took out new policy at the end of august with tesco and provided proof of no claims discount that came from previous company...today we receive a call saying we are being charged as a claim was made and that even tho it was… Read Full Review

I was just looking at comparison sites to re-new my car insurance. They have shown me a very competitive price for fully comprehensive insurance, but after reading your review, I think I will give it a miss. Yours is the most recent review that I have come across and it has made my mind up for me.

Pleased to help, they were far cheaper than anyone else when I took out my insurance, but now seem to be looking for totally unjustifiable reasons to bump that price up, now it's too late as I've cancelled my other insurance.

You are making the right decision, I have been with Tesco for at least the best part of 5 years. I was involved in an incident last year with a cyclist who was overtaking me on the inside on a non-cyclist lane area, who blatantly ignored my indicator, he was riding what I can describe to be a bike on its last legs, he made a complete fuss out of it at the time calling the police in situ who actually told them that he was in the wrong after talking to a witness. At the time there was no damage to bike and he hadn't been injured but within an hour of having left the scene of the incident he started calling me and the witness. To cut a long story short after a few months the cyclist contacted Tesco and now there is a claim against me for this incident despite of now having two separate police reference numbers clearly stating that I did nothing wrong plus witness statement which Tesco did not even bother contacting me and then they contact me to tell me that they will settle the claim unless I have a problem with it, hell yes I have a problem with it, it will be a year on 26th October since the incident and I am currently having to pay higher premiums because of their incompetence, having said that I am still arguing my case even though it feels like I am talking to a brick wall, Ombudsman is my next port of call. I would not even take up their insurance even if it was given to me for free.

Do not go with tesco for insurance. Earlier this year I was unfortunately involved in an accident were a car hit the rear of my car, this is the first accident I have had. I contacted tesco immediately informing them of the incident & provided them with the third parties details. Let me know how you get on as I will be going down this same route, we shouldn't be allowing companies like this to treat us in this manner. I am beginning to question myself if I actually want to continue doing my grocery shopping in their stores, the more I am reading up on it the more I get wound up over it, it seems they are taking us all for a bunch of mugs.

“Outsourced services have sapped Customer service”

However on my last use of their services on receiving vehicle damage, I realised they had outsourced the various tasks to FIVE different companies. My wife called Tesco car insurance for some advice about her car, several weeks later the renewal of our car insurance was due and we received the new premium. The premium went from just above £200 to £410. Good luck to you, that is all I can say. I always found them extremely helpful when it came to renewing and getting competitive prices for them but it would appear that this is all they are good at unfortunately.

I only wish I had of looked more carefully in which company I insured my car with. Tesco seems to be the only company which does not use automatic renwals and also only sends emails to advise of a renewal. My stupidity in choosing Tesco has now lead to me being prosecuted and my car seized. When speaking to them they advised the email could have gone to a spam folder, well that is no use or ornament to anyone. “Appalling! Disgraceful! Unbelievable treatment of 78...”

I, my sister, my mother and her bank have spent approximately 3 hours on the phone to Tescos to resolve a payment that they are pursuing, which has been paid over a month previously and we have proof of payment. This has been sent in by registered post, but we have no confidence in Tescos dealing with this with this expeditiously or with the importance that is needed. “No Loyalty Reward”

I am over 40, had a full UK licence for 3 yrs and have never filed a claim at all and just recently before my policy ended I received my renewal policy offer from tesco and to my surprise my premium went up to 30% of my existing premium without filing any claim through out the year. “Stay away from tesco”

I was with tesco nearly 2 years never had a problem until they stopped my insurance didn't let me no and they never gave me a reason, I didn't find out they had stopped the insurance till I got pulled by the police which landed me 6 points on my licence and a £200 fine I was so embarrassed I've never been in trouble with the police before and I've always been a good driver specially with having my son in the car. I have been with tesco for a year, and I can say nothing but praise for them. In Novemeber 2013 someone drove into the back of me when i was stationary about to apply my handbreak, but the person behind hit me at such a speed push me into the car in front.
