Good Points: 1)A whole load of manual functions. 2)Small yet sturdy. 3)Costs much less than better known brands with similar specs. 4)Coz of the manual settings, ideal for PROs & allows amateurs to grow and experiment. 5)User friendly controls.
Bad Points: 1)Proprietary battery & no separate charger 2)Really small video playback screen 3)Battery life rather short, at max resolution, it gave up after approx 45mins.
General comments: The Kyocera Finecam S3L is a great all rounder. With the available user friendly manual settings, it can handle almost any lighting conditions be it day or night. Definitely value for money. Great as a spare cam for PROS and easy enough for beginners to start with.

In low light conditions, i compared the Kyocera Finecam S3L with my friend's canon s230, and the canon was far superior. because of the long shutter lag time, people became a blur in the photos. i couldn't see anything in the LCD screen; you might as well point and shoot without looking. also, pictures were overexposed almost every time when using flash. i returned the camera, and i plan on getting a canon.

It works very good. Picture quality is better I could expect. I am not sure what actually battery life is, but it seems not bad. S3L with 4 levels of resolution is much more convenient than S3X. The most important difference.
Getting warm. I think it is because of metal body.

Okay..I had this camera for a week now and it turn out quite well. Kyocera might not be the number 1 camera brand, but Yashica is among the top and kyocera is just the digital version of Yashica. Anyway, i bring it out all the time...since it is so small...it also has great manual settings....sharpness, AE, shutter speed...etc. Image quality is very good ...except for an occasional over exposure..which can be correct from manual settings. I was not keen on the model because of the SD card memory ...

Looks like I'm the only one who uses this digicam. I don't know why not many uses it, but I think it's quite a good camera.
