Good Points: Very good quality of pictures, high colour fidelity, fast processor to make sequences, menu complete and easy to use, custom WB, not very common.

Bad Points: Battery life is really, really disappointing; in cold situations you really are lost! Video recording needs a high speed card to get the best results but nevertheless is poor in quality.

General comments: I have had the Kyocera Finecam S5R with me for nearly five years and I have an history of love and hate with this camera. With new and high quality batteries (e. g. Hhnel HL-900) in warm or hot weather is perfect (but don't forget one or two extra batteries). If you like high mountains and cold like me, just forget it!

Kyocera Finecam S5R This is a great camera for taking quick shots. It is very good at metering except in low light conditions. I feel I am overly critical because this camera was not made for taking expert shots. The F-stop options are extremely limited and will only allow you to nudge towards a low or high value and will decide itself. It has no options for aperature priority etc. But as I said this camera was made for taking quick shots that usually turn out very well. Even though it is not v ...

Kyocera Finecam S5 Digital Camera Beware, from a recent visit to the Pyrenees photographs of snow fields were very dissapointing compared to those from a Coolpix 2100. On auto the S5R has a tendency to over expose, even on indoor shots, giving areas of sturated peak white and saturated peak black. No setting seems to stop this. It has no snow or sand field scene setting. The Coolpix 2100 which has a snow setting gave pleasing shade variation to snow fields with good foreground colour. Normal ph ...

I have just bought this Kyocera Finecam S5 digital camera as an upgrade. It certainly does the business with every feature one normally needs. The model I have is the S5R and the repeat mode give excellent results.

Very nice camera for the price. The quality of the photos is awesome. Take into account you're gonna need a huge SD card. You can control almost everything manually, getting professional pictures with a little effort.
