I have a lot of experience with rifles of all kinds. This is a terrible purchase. It has the worst trigger of anything I have ever shot, and the way that it vibrates, and the ridiculous noise that it makes when fired, make it absolutley unenjoyable. I have purchased a new trigger for it in the hopes that it will somehow salvage my purchase. Do not by this gun unless they drasticaly improve the trigger.

I bought my shadow 1k .22 for about 750 AED last April 2007 and I send it to Philipines to use for hunting and flinking. When I was in the store I have no idea how good is this riffle I ask to the saleman which is fast moving in their store and they say this Gamo shadow 1k then I chose it. The first fire without pellet it was almost a loud as live 22 rimfire riffle. With a smoke almost same at two stroke engine exhaust. I used the diable pelet and it is acurate at 15 meters with a group of abou ...

I bought this Gamo Shadow 1000 rifle few weeks ago and I'm werry pleased with it. It's werry accurate. I put on optic Gamo WR 4x32. You can shoot a cheary on 40 meters.
It's a little too heavy. It has about 6 pounds. I paid 200' for it and it's werry good prize for such gun.

This gamo shadow 1000 will not sight in - with the hard sights or scope. Shoots very high at 30 yards and not accurate at 60. I've tried three different scopes and 4 different ring sets and still not accurate. Lots of power, but if you can't hit what you are aiming at, it doesn't matter. I purchased this rifle based on the reviews from different sites. This one may just be a lemon, but I won't give gamo another chance to find out.

Not a good value for the price.

I have owned a few Air rifles before but I must say this Gamo Shadow 1000 is a gem, high power and very accurate.I must also add that on my example the trigger is perfect no creep.this is a rifle that is screaming for a high power scope, make no mistake the true glow optics is a joy to use , but there is more potential to be tapped from this rifle.one thing to note is not to use cheap pellets in this full power rifle as they tend to tumble and go over the place, but if you use a good quality pel ...

Gamo Shadow 1000 has lots of power , I get a lot of stray rounds, I have not been able to get a tight enough grouping to be satisfied with it. I had a old Czechoslovakian that was dead on every shot. Would trade 3 shadows for another czech for accuracy.
    Good power ,accuracy not good.

As said above, the trigger has a little creep (it creeps slightly before releasing), but once it releases, it's up to the airgun gods from there, and the Shadow 1000 gives all you'll ever need. I went for the .22 over the .177 for two reasons. 1st - there was only only one .177 left in the shop and both my brother and I wanted the same rifle each so we settled for the .22 cal. 2nd - the .22 is better for retaining energy downfield than the 177 and can be a bit more effective out at the max range ...

I bought this gun from TR ROBB for 140 pounds ( mine is actually the shadowmatic ) and other than the self loading mechanism it is a worthy addition to anyones collection. It's quite an effort to cock but thats not surprising as it delivers 750 fps in .22. Use DYNAMIC air cartridge bullets with this weapon and it will destroy anything in it's past. However, in my opinion the recoil is awful and the whole gun vibrates and makes a terrible noise everytime you pull the trigger. Overall though ...

Well here in the UK I paid £130 for the Gamo Shadow 1000 .22 version, fitted a Nikko Stirling Mountmaster AO 4x40 scope. ( £40)
I'm using nothing but Webley Accupels through it.
This is my first air rifle and so far I'm very happy with it and the accuracy does seem to be getting better the more pellets I put through it, but this is probably down to practice.

The power of this air rifle is insane, it puts holes clean through peices of slate at 25 yards. I'm not going to shoot any li ...

The Gamo Shadow 1000 is just a supreme gun. i love it. i love the sights and it is easy to cock, but is very powerful. oh man i love this gun. it looks sleek, it feels sleek, and it handles like a real gun, except lighter. it is very accurate once you tune the sights in, and is superbly powerful. i shot target target pellets at a 1.7 cm craftwood plank, and they were poking out through cracks on the other side.

This is my update in hindsight I first bought the Gamo S1k in 2004 now 5 years later and 7k pellets through it. After numerous informal club competitons and comparisons the Gamo is still shooting accurate and strong. It is my goto air rifle for most things from pest control, hunting, 10 m target and at unofficaily 75-80 paces long range clay disk smashing. It such a good aair rifle I bought a .22 Gamo Suprem to go along with my 1st .177.

Now I do have better looking, better made and more accur ...

The Gamo Shadow 1000 gun is overpriced for its reliability, approximately 3000 rounds and the compression spring broke in five pieces. I would also question 1000 ft./s, maybe for the first half second. To start with it will not travel 1000 feet in a straight line, and frankly I did not expect it to. I feel that the gun is very unreliable, I paid almost $150 for the shadow 1000, and I really feel I got screwed.

Buy one now you will love it, it is just what you are looking for. The webley stingray is a joy to shoot and is very similar the the BSA lightning the webley is a very powerful gun and is not to be messed around with i would advise anyone to by one. The webley is quiet heavy and takes a bit to get used to by hugs into your body like a dream once you get to know the gun and once you are comfortable with the gun

This is the best air rifle you can find for the price. I paid $98.00 for mine at Wal Mart! I've been shooting it for 2 years and it still delivers awesome power. I can put pellets through a 2x4 easily with cheap Crosman Premier pellets. I've killed 3 moose at 370 yards plus and once the pellet went through the moose and severely wounded a grizzly bear that was standing behind it. I finished the bear off with a second shot. Then i got in my rocket ship and went home to watch Gilligan's Island.
