Good Points: Easy to setup. Worked ok for a year.
Bad Points: Do not flash the BIOS or you will have to buy a new board or chip which you will never find! Also poor english manual, translation must have been bad.
General comments: The Gigabyte GA-71XE motherboard is OK but there is no backup bios flash boot block so don't mess with it. Learn by my mistake. I had to buy another board. Stick with gigabyte though! they have improved since.

Very happy in general but User's manual could use work. Good motherboard for a cheap upgrade to an old PC. For more state of the art, buy motherboard with newer AMD760 chipset.

Very easy to install and configure. Very little to set up on the board regarding jumpers and switches, would suit a first time builder. The manual is just about adequate. I have tried this board with a wide variety of peripherals and it’s been completely stable with all. I've also tried it with WIndows 95, 98 and Windows ME, encountered no problems at all. BIOS upgrades are easily available from the Gigabyte Web Site including a Windows based flashing program which is very easy to use.
