I couldn't help noticing the poor reviews of the Hewlett Packard 3200c scanner by others - I disagree.
The scanner produces perfectly good results considering the price of the unit.
I can't fault it at the price, and I can't really say that a more expensive scanner would do much more apart from offer increased resolution and image quality.

i can do better with a cheap hand-scanner. Ive never been so disappointed with a peice of hardware. I took it apart, only to find that the bushings that the scanner slides on were nearly unlubricated. I oiled them and the rod and it got slightly quieter, and the image got slightly better. I havent torn down the electric motor yet, but if that doesn't help at least i'll be left with a really neat neon light.

Scanning is very slow, not because of the hardware but the terrible software. I have a 6 years old Mustek scanner that easily outperforms the HP. Besides, it temporary takes up twice the RAM the scanned picture has, and if you use the software wrapped inside a paint application like PaintShop, it is now 3 times the RAM size. Again my Mustek sc ...
