bought my gsi from my cousin after seeing it sat on his mums front for a few month without a wheel turned,i got the car knowing it had a rebuil;t engine and fresh paint only a few years back. but,also knowing there was major rust issue's to the sills chassis legs boot floor,inner wings etc. so now it has been undergoing restoration work and im due it back in a few week,the car has only travelled around 60-70miles in the two year5s icve owned it,so cannot realy give a detalied description... I had the plesure of owning a rather nice GSi 2000 in 2004. Silver, mint condtion and as we all know went like the clappers!

well as being part of a cavalier enthusiast's club. I'd have to say they are
one of the most amazing cars to drive.
more so that me and my partner have 3 cavaliers which includes a gsi rep, cdx turbo and a 2.0 8v dippy lol
i would honestly recomend these cars to anyone and with being part of www.cavaliercrazy.co.uk any problems and stuff dont stay problems for long as we are like one big family helping out when we can (read more)

i owe a gsi 2000 16 valve c20xe i bought it for 450 euro to date its standing me roughly 1800 to 2000 euro its a very reliable car has never let me down and will put the needle back to 0 it is currently being fully restored and should be on the road in january so watch out! (read more)

Had my Vauxhall Cavalier GSi for 3 years, started using it as a daily driver and have been continuously upgrading it since, it's now too uncomfortable to drive every day so it sleeps in the shed waiting for the next track day or club run. (read more)

iv had 3 sri redtops and 1 gsi and even the sri's are just as good but the gsi is the best old saloon there is. The Vauxhall Cavalier GSi 16V C20XE is an amazing car for the money iv had a vectra gsi and iv still went back to the good old faithful cav got one now havent owned it long but i plan to keep it for a long time. it has no rust on what so eve.r really good example of a fastly becoming rare car. I had my Vauxhall Cavalier GSi for about 6 years, put about 100k miles on it, but it was still going strong when I let it go. It was diamond black and completely standard, except for a Magnex s/s exhaust.
As you probably know, the GSi was basically a Cav CD with attitude, so you had a nice trim level with a lot of grunt.

Had my Vauxhall Cavalier gsi 4x4 for about 2 yrs now, shes like my baby I would never sell her.
So far ive replaced clutch for fast road item, radiator, lower wishbones, battery, exhaust, a big list of little things but all in all

My Vauxhall Cavalier gsi is a 1990 G, purchased for a grand. Not sure if i have paid too much, but its already lowered, (spax adjustables and springs) but otherwise standard. there are loads of interior bits to sort. fuel computer has a mind of its own. interior light faulty, heated rear window dont work, tappety as hell when started up from cold (130k) heater matrix needs replacing. in general a reasonable starting point, daily driver but also a project, loads to do but thats the fun of... Everything about the car is as it should be, some people say that they Calibra is the better car but the cavalier is not only practical but I feel better handling and just more fun. Would recommend anyone to enjoy the experience of owning a cavalier until you have owned one and had people walk up to you telling you stories of when they had one you will truly not know how it feels. I loved this car when I first got it, I'd owned an 8v SRi before and I knew I liked the way the Cavalier felt to drive. Sadly the 4x4 is slower than the older SRi due to the extra weight for the running gear.. gutted, that said it did handle like it was on rails. IT had a million toys with it, mine was a bit tricked up with rims and lowered suspension etc. I was good while it lasted but sadly that heavy old running gear gave up on me after a few months or ownership ( probably due to my lack... We had one of these on a g plate a few years ago and the wife loved it.
We where lucky enough to have one with perfect rear arches but it rattled like hell when cold so we sold it on and got a Mitsubishi GTO twin turbo.
Garage bills were way to high with the GTO so remembering how much we loved the Cavalier GSI I've bought a Vectra GSI on a W and again the wife and I will both say the GSIs are the best 2 cars we have even owned and are miles better than our BMW as well. (read more)

For the year of manufacture (G on) the car is very high spec, discs all round, abs, power steering, independent rear suspension, 4 branch manifold, etc and more electrics than you can imagine! (mine has air con too). The cars look great as standard so don't spoil it with body modifications. Best colours are star silver (rare) and spectral blue (even rarer). Get a 2wd as they are faster and less to go wrong (on transfer box and associated parts). Engine and car good for 200000 miles easily... (read more)

My Vauxhall Cavalier provides me with no end of smiles out accelerating cars that are 15 years newer, much quicker than my old 2.0 8v Astra GTe and with discs all round and independant suspension handles and stops better too! Drove like a dream all the way down to the south coast of France and round Monaco, and through the tunnels to Italy. I have owned my Vauxhall Cavalier GSi for 9 months
The car has been in our family since the day it was made.
It's been lowered to the floor with Spax adjustables and springs 15 inch brake disks 17inch alloys, Japspeed twin exhaust.
K&N breather kit and filter, Scorpion ignition coil.
Blue silicone hoses, black tinted windows.
JVC 12 disk changer, twin dvd player on the back of seatrests.

I have had my Vauxhall Cavalier GSi approximately one month already people have offered me money but it's not for sale. I had to do the cylinder head n the heater matrix. Fairly easy on the cylinder head side job done 4 £95 but the heater matrix was a pain cost £55 for a new one so most parts are relatively cheap. Absolutely love the car and it's amazingly quick would recommend buying one to anybody (read more)

I have owned my Vauxhall Cavalier GSI for 3 years now. She's diamond black on a G plate, and was standard when I bought her. The only problems I've had are - The back arches rusting, fuel pipe split, CV boots split, oil sump gasket leaking, my digie dash was not registering my fuel, stick float.

I have just spent thousands getting my Cav Gsi lowered, bodykit fitted + sprayed but while the work was being carried out the backend began to flex. I looked into it and it turns out my GSI is a cut + shut.

I have owned my Vauxhall Cavalier GSi 16V C20XE for about 1 yeah now. Within the first month of owning it i lowered it, put a performance exhaust on. k & N 57i filter & superchip'd it. I bought my Vauxhall Cavalier GSi 16V C20XE in November 1994 because I liked them from the BTCC. It was Anthracite Grey, standard alloy wheels, Continental tyres and standard exhaust, until it dropped off through rust, and the fuel tank had a leak. Then I bought a Scorpion twin exhaust, what a difference that made. Now 140 was easily attainable, as I discovered one night coming up to the south of Stoke on the dual carriageway.

I have had mine for a year and love it with a passion. Its a GSi 2000 4x4 16v
I have had it Super chipped, K&N filter fitted Power Boost Valve and its de-catted.
I don't know the BHP but it is very quick.
Even after a year, I still look back at it when I park it up.
For a car that performs when needed there is not a better car in the same price range. (read more)

My '92 CAVALIER GSi PROBLEMS
. When the car is hot, half the time it won't re-start from the key. Mechanics say "No spark".
. Have changed ignition module, coil pack, distributor block and crank sensor.
. Car WILL start alright (when it's giving trouble) with a push, tow, or any jump start. This is getting harder to do though, requiring increasingly more effort and vehicle momentum or force over the last month.

Ive owned my Vauxhall Cavalier GSi for 7 years and only had to service the engine and change a wire. If serviced properly this car will never let you down. I change the oil every two thousand miles and the only noise if the pulleys are spray is injector ticking. Not bad for a car with 120k on it... (read more)

Had my Vauxhall Cavalier GSi 2000 16v C20XE for two and a half years now. It still raises a smile everytime I boot it! love the way no modern two litre is anything like as fast and get such a buzz blowing loosers in TTs and the like!!

Only had my Vauxhall Cavalier GSi for about a month but im already loving it. It just looks the muts nuts, has lots of power (the lower gears are immense)and lots of nice touches inside, not surprising since they would have set you back £19,000 14 years ago! Previous owner installed an induction kit which causes huge flat spots so its best to keep the OE airbox or go for a more expensive setup. Worrying about TWOCERS has caused a few sleepless nights. The Vauxhall Cavalier GSi is the first real performance car that iv had but it wipes the floor with most things on the road. With a twin scorpian exaust on the back you can cruise down any main road and people will stop and stare, wondering just what you are driving! The Vauxhall Cavalier GSi 2000 16v C20XE is a fantastic car. Ive had mine for a 9 months and it hasnt given me any probs. Best colour for them is red or blue. GSI kit is rude. Vauxhall really got it right with this car. The best engine they have ever made. Damm quick even in a big car like this and the chassis is so stiff too. Well its the first GSI I had.I was so stunned how quick it was as I found out one nite. Three mates & I were doing 155mph+ on the Norwich duel carriage way. I run a bashed and battered black Vauxhall Cavalier GSi 2000 16v C20XE as a second car, while the cossies garaged up for the winter, it's standard apart from an uprated air filter and obligatory custom stainless exhaust , i have no idea what sort of power it produces and don't really care, it never uses any oil between changes and pulls cleanly right up to the redline in fifth where the speedo runs out of numbers. I used to own a Vauxhall Cavalier GSi 2000 on a G reg, metalic grey. I brought it standard and spent over 2K on combat front bumper, evo rear spoiler, 17" rims, scorpion exshaust system, boost valve, green air filter(runs better with standard air box other wise the engine hesitates), slambed to the floor, £100 on magnicor ht leads and was running about 190+ bhp,it would do 55 in 1st, 75 in 2nd, 110 in 3rd, 140 in 4th and topped out at 156 and the handling was out of this world. my gsi is amazing the engine was rebuilt by yorkshire rally centre skimmed polished piper cams 4 branch and full magnex ss exhaust and its now about 200 bhp!! @4500 rpm your doing about 135mph in 5th!! black in colour lowered and looks the dogs when i am approx 1 mile from home my dad can here me coming!!! An excellent car especially when fitted with 17inch alloy's, but check wheel offset is correct (49mm) or you gonna have problems keeping it in one piece around the bends!! Everything about the Vauxhall Cavalier GSi is basically right - from the responsiveness to the ease of driving! There is almost every toy at your fingertips and with about 150bhp at the right foot you can do almost anything (within reson). This is a high spec car - you have 4x electric windows, electric sunroof, electric and heated mirrors, trip computer, PAs and ABS to mention a few, this should keep you happy for hours!
