Utter Brilliance!! Goodnight Lady is by far my favourite book not only of Martina Cole but of any author. The storyline is excellant and shows how a family from the sewers can rise to become powerful. This story has had me laughing out loud and sobbing. I would definately would recommend it.

Uttery compelling and absolutely brillaint.
Martina Cole's "Goodnight Lady" Portrays the life of Briony Cavanagh and how she rose through the ranks to become one of the most notorious faces in the East End of London.
I absolutely loved the plot, setting and the way the whole book was laid out, loving to know more of her life in more detail throughout the years, is the only bad point I could express.

Martina Cole, Goodnight Lady is simply the best book I've read! I finished it yesterday and I'm so gutted, I just wanted it to go on and on! I've never read a book that's gripped me like this, the characters are amazing and the relationship between Briony and Tommy is so lovely!
Reading the back of the book I wouldn't have thought it would have been good and normally wouldn't have read it as it doesn't do it justice at all but I'm so glad I did now! I'll have to read more of her books if the ...- Read julietuk's review (127 words)

Martina Cole potrayed all her characters well especially Briony Cavanagh, this women seemed to have all the power and the plot was very good it had you crying at parts of the book but you couldn't put it down. I can never seem to put any of her books down the ending also was a suprise aswell.- Read gillian bodkin's review (84 words)
