Overall car is good, can be thirsty if driving above 2500 revs, just do simple things like look after the oil, oil filter, plugs, air filter, etc if your lazy with these small things then like all cars things build up and you have a bigger problem, so when it says it needs a sevice in the dash or SERVICE BOOK then do it!!!

“I bought my Peugeot 307 9 months ago, basically...”

I bought my Peugeot 307 9 months ago, basically because it looked so good. The first problem started about a month later.

The 5 disc multi-changer gave up. Peugeot quoted me £300+ for a new one. The Blaupunkt dealer said they could repair it for £110ish, but the repair wouldn't be guaranteed as these units are so unreliable. In the end got one for £50 from the German Ebay site which seems to works fine.

Then the remote for the stereo gave up, back to Ebay again, only £30 this time...

As with everyone else's, a very strong smell of fuel when the tank's low, Peugeot say this is a design fault, no amount of changing filters can fix it.

About a month ago it began to knock loudly over even very small bumps. A trip under the car revealed that the link bar between the shock and anti-roll bar had become detached at the anti-roll bar end. Again, after speaking to a mate at Peugeot, another common problem.
If this is unfortunate enough to happen to anyone else, a company called German Swedish and French do a copy part for £14 which isn't too tricky to fit.

Whilst under there I found that the plastic cowling that runs under the engine from the bumper and towards the wheel arches was almost falling off, after 90% of the cheap plastic fasteners had fallen off. Is this common?
It looks as though there should be a plastic cowling covering the bottom of the engine/gearbox, but mine doesn't have one... has it fallen off? I'd appreciate some feedback on that one!

And finally, it blows various bulbs like they grow on trees.

I still love it though. It's superb on the motorway and looks great !
