Good Points: Loved the car can be a head turner to a small degree , comfy, easy to use and drives well if pushed quite hard , just trust the handling and make sure tyres have enough tread or your goosed with the esp in the wet , youve been warned dry works very well just push hard and all will come aparent

Bad Points: Exshaste can be loud when replaced as not as good as original when bought , cat converter can be blocked, temp sensor gets it wrong sometimes, ie shudder at idle,,, or can be air lost somewhere, can be big problem , dont pay garage to do work in less you know the guy, dealers will be rubbing there hands with glee at the money you spend on little problems when they plug the car in and computer says no, that will be 100 to 200 pounds please for not fixing anything oh can i also have vat on that please....also the electrics dont give much cofedence , make sure you know how far you can go when low fuel light comes on , i ve read many reviews and alot of people have got it wrong because the digital readings have let them down , but they still thought they could get to there destination, wrong

General comments: Overall car is good, can be thirsty if driving above 2500 revs, just do simple things like look after the oil, oil filter, plugs, air filter, etc if your lazy with these small things then like all cars things build up and you have a bigger problem, so when it says it needs a sevice in the dash or SERVICE BOOK then do it!!!

I would recommend the Peugeot 307 for anyone looking to buy a nippy car with quick handling capability and plenty of space. Bought a 1.6 sport last year. Second hand but great fun. Quick, nimble and hasn't let me down.

I think the previous reviewer is a bit harsh. I have now had Pug Diesals for almost 10years and have not yet had a major engine problem with any. The only snagg I can report was a Water pump leak on a 405 GRDT Turbo and the mileage was 110000. Since then I have had 3x306s and a 307 (all turbo diesals). You can burn them heavy footed and have plenty of power and still get 40-45mpg.
I am now currently looking for a newer model (mine is now 6 this august) as I have had it since 17000miles at 14 mo ...

Good looking but bad workmanship. We have an 307 XSi 2004, we have had various recalls for problems, but just 4 years old and 37000 miles on clock. The engine has not gone something to do with missing tooth on cog for timing belt. Now Peugeot had AGREED to pay 100 % of £2500 plus bill. But now still not fixed week later and they have discovered something else broken in engine and we do not know as yet whether this will be paid by them. We used to love this car, now we can not wait to get r ...

I've had two 307's the first was a 3 year old 2.0 hdi d turbo it had 60000 on the clock the problems I had was that the windows had a mind of there own, the cd player stopped working every time i went on the motorway, the warning light light's up like blackpool illuminations and just before i got shut of it i had to carry water with me to stop it over heating. I had it for about half a year then got a corsa and got board of it, then i got my 2nd 307 it was a 5 year old with 92000 on the clock ...

Too many plastic panels falling off. Mechanically it is a disaster, and definitely not made to be parked in a supermarket car park. Magnets and solenoids have to be replaced. It was subject to recall but some fell through the cracks, watch out. Magnets are too small, requiring replacing with new larger magnets. When the gear box fails I have to find a place to pull over and turn off then restart the engine. This happens at the start of the journey 50kpm on the motorway and during the driving whe ...

We bought the Peugeot 307 in March 2007 and every possible problem happened with this car, CD player, computer, window wipers, horn, temperature problems and even electric windows and the electric mirrors. Just today the engine has blown up after 5 months of ownership. The car looks the part, but must have terrible problems, it will cost £1000-£4000 to fit a new engine in the vehicle and practically is the worst car we have bought.
This car has every possible problem imaginable!

For 12 months this Peugeot 307 2.0 XSi had no real issues, after that period a whole manner of things have gone wrong:
Blaupunkt 5 CD changer stereo stopped working, Peugeot was going to charge a vast amount of money to fix, so had a techie mate look at it and now 3 of the 5 CD changers work, still have no idea what caused it.
Strong fuel smell is almost constant when slowing down.
Indicators have a mind of there own, they struggle to stay on and when you are turning one direction, the indica ...

I bought my Peugeot 307 9 months ago, basically because it looked so good.

The first problem started about a month later.
The 5 disc multi-changer gave up. Peugeot quoted me £300+ for a new one. The Blaupunkt dealer said they could repair it for £110ish, but the repair wouldn't be guaranteed as these units are so unreliable. In the end got one for £50 from the German Ebay site which seems to works fine.

Then the remote for the stereo gave up, back to Ebay again, only & ...

I bought my Peugeot 307 2.0 XSi from a Peugeot dealer, a one owner car possibly used as a demo by a member of staff from another local garage. The Dealer was not really bothered with issues. changed to a local and new Peugeot dealer near home who was very helpful but still as per Peugeot garages, have only a reasonable understanding of faults. Glad I paid for the extended warranty as the above faults all repaired and very happy with the staff who bent over backwards sometimes to get the car sort ...

I've owned my Peugeot 307 2.0 XSi family car for 6 months and i've had nothing but problems with it. On the test drive when I took the car out it was smooth good looking and seemed a very nice car. First thing to brake was the passanger side wing mirror it stopped folding in and out automatically so this was replaced seems to be o,k now. Then the oil sensor broke down whenever I started the car the oil level on the dashboard would flash when I check the dipstick the level was fine so took it to ...

First complaint with the Peugeot 307 2.0 XSi family car at 409Km. The car completely stopped, no indication of power supply and after few minutes it got started, At 1950Km the cooling fan broke into pieces. Got it replaced after 3 days. Air condition failure continued till 40,000 KM. Done Major Service at 40,000 KM. There after poor Pick-up, poor brake, At Last a narrow escape from an accident, Horn was not working, At 47,000KM Air condition complaint was repaired and this was the only time I wa ...

Bought this Peugeot 307 2.0 XSi family car 3 months ago with 30k on it. Added an other 4k since. Build quality poor with door handle inserts falling off and carpets coming undone at the sill anchorage. Boot carpet has same fault with not being secured properly.
MPG on a decent motorway run is good at around 47 but try doing a lot of town miles and this drops to 23 or even less!. Auto wipers are a good idea but unfortunately if its only light rain , it screatches across the windscreen and is ver ...

I would reccomend this Peugeot 307 2.0 XSi family car to anyone, It is a great car. I bought it last year and it has been running a charm, Its air con and sun roof are great for hot days. I drive this car in London and after I put a spoiler and alloys on it, It became a chick magnet.

Peugeot Dealer and manufacturer refuse to acknowledge problems. We are sure that this is to diminish your consumer rights. As soon as a major fault is recognised (probably the day you receive the car) we recommend you reject the car in writing.

Peugeot promised a reply to our complaints "within two working days". It took five months of constant reminders before they actually replied (totally inadequate reply) - and then only because they were prompted by BBC Watchdog programme.

    The dealer ...

Owned a 405 and the 406 and finally my missus wanted the 307 HDI 2.0L for herself so we obliged . It was a good handling car plenty of road for the 2 kids with lots of cubby holes and things, We like the radio qualify and have opted gfor the multi CD player, the view out is amazing, lets hope we dont get a stone throught the window !!. Diesel is OK, sluggish is the word for a 2 liter , we had a 406 2.0 TD before and it would wipe the floor with it . Not much room in the back for shopping either ...
