“unfotunately it leaks”

Written on: 13/03/2013

I love my 206 convertable but over the last 6 wks it's leaking over drivers window. peugeot don't sell thr rubber seal for just over the window. You have to buy the seal for the whole car. When the car is worth less than £3000 it really seems stupid spending almost £500 on getting it fixed. Anyone any ideas for fixing leak. my car's only done 43,000 & is in otherwisr fantastic condition. (read more)

“Fun in the summer, not so good in winter”

Written on: 19/08/2012

I've had my peugeot 206 cc for 3 years now. In the summer its great to have the roof down and I do love how it looks inside and out, however there are a few issues. In the time I've had it the roof hydraulics have broken twice. Leaving me to put it up manually and having fluid leaking everywhere. Luckily the first time it was under warranty and today its just happened again, no idea how much its going to cost. The cabin is quite noisy, especially over bumps with creaking, I suppose thats to... (read more)

“Makes Everyone Smile”

Written on: 01/08/2011

We had two big family cars - Scenics - and one mad weekend I sold the older scenic and bought this 04 plate 206cc. It's a long time since I've had so much fun in a car. Not a fast car, not a throaty engine, but just a huge feelgood factor driving in the sunshine. Great for touring country roads and feeling you can breathe in the fresh air and see so much of the scenery. Decent equipment inside - all round radio/cd, usual range of measurments on digital display, funky bottle carrier hidden... (read more)

I bought a 206cc last year and had problems with it from a week after i bought it.Front springs went and 5 weeks after buying it the catalytic converter went.I place most of the blame on the dealer who sold me the car because they basically palmed me off with every problem i had.I involved Trading Standards and the garage agreed to take the car back and i got a refund.

I got my Peugeot 206 cc in 2007. My car has been more broken than fixed!!! Every other week I have to take her to a mechanic for something new or an old problem. I've tried taking it up with Peugeot SA With no response... I'm thinking of taking legal action because the cost involving all the fixing is more than the car cost. Oh yeah by the way the car was bought "brand new" "Out of the box". Brand new my ass!!! (read more)

I bought my little Peugeot 206CC Quiksilver special edition brand new back in June 2004 and still love this car as much as the first day I brought it home. It has been reliable and fun to drive and definitely a headturner in the sunshine! We drove to the Dordogne a few years ago with two teenagers in the back and purchased a luggage rack which sits on the boot to allow us to put the roof down in sunshine. I have done almost 70,000 miles in her (Female as very reliable!) and so far have not... (read more)

I have had my 206 cc for 6 weeks and it has broken down 3 times! Each time I have taken it to a garage they can't find anything wrong! I love the look of the car but the engine seems to overheat when stuck in traffic which causes the engine to fail and then not start for 2 hours. Not great when stuck on a busy roundabout! I wanted this car for ages but it has given me nothing but trouble since I've had it. Only been able to drive it 3 out of 6 weeks since I've had it! (read more)

Love my Kiki (Black and Red 206cc 1.6), and I'm still smiling after all these years - wouldn't want to part with her.
Problems:
1. Makes a dreadful noise when wet, loud high pitch squeal from under the bonnet - been like this for years!
2. Roof leaks - back nearside window.
3. Have some corrosion on paint work; the paint on the offside back window is bubbling. Which seems strange - as I knocked her some years ago and this hasn't even rusted yet?
4. Not able to replace the foot well carpets... (read more)

This is a car I have wanted for about 2 years. Finally brought a 2.0 Allure now the kids are getting older and don't come anywhere with me!! :)
Haven't had any problems with the car so far. Yes the cabin is noisy but thats to be expected.
This car is a dream to own and I haven't stopped smiling since buying it.
It is also a headturner especially when the roof is down!
I now love the 52 mile round trip to work everyday as I love the car so much.

I must love it, I wash it every weekend and I've never done that to any car lol !! Boot space is limited when you have got the roof down though, but not a problem, throw the shopping on the back seats. I've owned my Peugeot 206 for 6 years from new - I still love it but it's not been an easy relationship - a lot has gone wrong! Apart from a very noisy ride - something to do with the front suspension I'm told - the roof occassionally leaks which leaves the drivers seat soaking wet! I've also have 4 full exhaust systems and a new Engine management system as the last one was destroyed by a Peugeot dealer trying to 'fix' a problem! My Peugeot 206CC never feels stable, especially at high speed and around corners. Everything feels loose, gears interior plastics. Everything shakes when the roof is down. Handeling is rubbish, doesn't stick to the road. Nothing feels of very much quality for the price, in general it doesn't feel solid or well built like a honda or Toyota would. You might look good initially but when things start flying off as your "cruising" down the road it doesn't look so stylish. (read more)

My Peugeot 206 CC 1.6 is a nice car, good looking, fast and great on a nice day for cruising. It was really hard to get my system going in there, these cars are not built to play with and I had to make special boxes for my subs and to put my own speakers in, was a nightmare. The sensation you experienced is refered to as Skuttle Shacke. It is caused by the chassis flexing due to the fact that you have no fixed roof holding the car rigid when the hood is down. You shouldn`t experience this with the roof up, as rigidity is restored.

I love my Peugeot 206 1.6 Coupe Cabriolet, it drives well it looks smart and sexy, and it suits my personality. I love the fact that I have the security of a hardtop in the winter and a convertible in the summer. It takes 20 secs for the roof to go down and back up which is great. It has alloys, abs, cd and at well under £15k is good value for money when you compare to other similar cars. Yes after sales is not good and there have been problems with this model. Your experience/concerns with Peugeot match mine. Superb designs, but the backup and willingess/ability to fix problems is a serious issue. My last Pug (a 306) had a silly, but persistent fault which took SEVENTEEN dealer visits to rectify.

I Love my Peugot 206 2.0 Coupe Cabriolet but can't understand why I needed a new exhaust after 1 year! Then Peugeot fitted the wrong one, but they did give me a free service worth £99 and a tank of petrol. My roof has jammed once and I had to have new air vents in the middle console as they broke in the first month. It rattles a lot with the roof up and I have had to take it back to Peugeot 3 times before they managed to fix the drivers door as it wasnt closing properly, now after two years of owning it Peugeot tell me that my alternator belt is fraying and my discs on the brakes have corroded and they recommend the Air con to be re-gased every two years. Totaling up to over £300...mmm.... but all in all when I have the roof down it still gives me that buzz of feeling like a sexy chick! I'd buy another convertible but not sure I'd by a Peugeot.

I have only recently bought my Peugeot 206 Quicksilver. The car is very good on petrol and very easy to park. Although the car is small, you do feel that you are driving a larger car than you actually are. I love this little car and although it is not the fastest of the range, it does get you from A to B in safe and most agreeable manner as well as turning a few heads on the way. I would recommend this car for others. I am now hankering after the 307 CC. (read more)

First and foremost your getting a great looking car at an affordable price with a lot of optional extras already built in. You get much better value for money from this model than the 2.0 litre version which is slightly over priced. On the down side, after time some owners may experience roof jamming problems which Peugeot have failed to overcome and repairs can be expensive, but overall reliabilty is generally sound.
