Good Points: Comfy, responsive, looks great, fast and the "lift" on the VVT-i engines is great. Very reliable. Wolf in sheep's clothing. Funny to see looks on peoples faces when you burn past them as most people think a corolla is an old man's car. Not this one. The engines are so good Lotus bought them off Toyota and are now fitted in the Elise. Nice red light speedo and later models are white. 6 gears a treat as pulls away nicely at motorway speeds in 6th. Some models come with half leather depending which pack/year you buy.
Bad Points: Can be thirsty if "lift" is used a lot i.e. 270 miles on a full tank. If driven sensibly then 370 miles. Its not a quite car when driving 50mph up but then again it is a sports engine designed by the racing team so if you buy it not to drive it hard and fast now and again then you've bought the wrong car. CD tuner not the best fitting in the world but this is unfortunately normal on the range, after warranty its easy to replace the head unit with an adaptor but you may want to check if the new one is compatible with the steering controls. Some alloys have known to corrode but it under warranty they will be replaced. You can purchase special protection spray and lifetime warranty on alloys depending on dealers and prices can be very low on the alloy warranty.
General comments: 04 upwards Toyota Corollas have revised light clusters, different style steering wheel + audio controls, half leather seating pack, white dial back ground and some hand stitched steering wheels and gear sticks. Strut brace and refined suspension, apart from that, same car same "lift". Shame Toyota stopped producing these as reliability is best in the world since it is a Corolla. Emissions are not that great though!

it's a 1.8 vvti auto, Japanese build. Yes I agree, there is a whole myriad of different noises and vibrations depending on revs and speed, completely unexpected and very unrefined for a new Toyota.
