Not likely but I was 20 when I read this book, I wasn't an alcoholic or a drinker for many years. not with kids or even girlfriend. without any medical problems or any so called reason to read this book And yet I have only one word to say about this book: BRILLIANT. This book is recommended for anyone who drinks as such - even if he drink once a week, a month, a year! This book should go viral - it could change the world as we know it! It answered all the questions I had about drinking! We are brainwashed for sure, everything revolves around social drinking. How one drink leads to another! It is common sense to not waste time, health and money drinking alcohol! I haven't quit drinking I just don't want to anymore - what an amazing book and concept. In Ukraine the title of this book was translated like "Easy Way to QUIT Drinking". And it's very incorrect, however, it comes to it eventually. But thus most people won't buy it, cause no one wants to quit drinking unless he knows all its secrets. So, probably only people with the alcoholism of the last stage will get interested in it. what an amazing book. just made me realise how alcohol had got a grip of my life. This book shows you that the need to drink is all a big con its all mental, there is no withdrawal. I put down the book and stopped drinking 8 months ago and have not missed it once. I still go out and do all the things I did before. People don't understand why i'm so content. Can I advise anyone wishing to give up alcohol that this is the 5 star read, I can only do all or nothing (vodka & slimline tonic) and for me it's nothing! Sounds boring but it's transformed my life and the way my Family & indeed my Husband feel about me, my whole outlook is amazing, if i'd known this was how it was to be I would have done this years ago. I would totally recommend Allen Carr's Easy Way to Control Alcohol to anyone who is struggling with addiction to alcohol and perhaps like myself has tried and failed in AA. After all, they say (outside of AA) that the AA failure rate is 95%. I think this book must have a massive success rate. It made total common sense to me. I agree that this book is totally compelling! Its the best book I've ever read about addiction and alcohol. The book is written so well and it makes such interesting... (read more)
