    Good Points: Well Written, Likeable Characters


    Bad Points: Some pacing problems, would have liked less zine excerpts.


    General comments: Hard Love is a well written book by one of this reviewers favorite YA authors.

    It's a really deep,fantastic book, and i think people should really read
    Ellen Wittlinger, Hard Love. I loved how the book connected to me since I'm 13! The way marisol's parents handled her lesbianism, but Im not lesbian by the way, and John's courage to stand up like that to his parents, I understand his reasons.     Ellen Wittlinger, Hard Love - This book was both heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time. It was a real coming of age book, which truly demonstrates teenagers' real feelings. Wittlinger expresses the pains of growing up, the ache of being alone, and the longing of wanting a love that is unreachable as though she, herself is a teenager.
