I purchased my Peugeot 206 1.6 GLX automatic second hand and I must honestly say that its just as good as my first car a Peugeot 306 sadan. The colour is a brilliant grey, and it behaves to a wonder. I do have that screeching break issue but to be honest I had it in my 306 too .. so yes let them stare and see that sporty car that I drive ... brilliant preformance the only set back is the lack of power windows in the back .... Where do I start, have had it for 2 years and have had to replace exhaust, catalytic converter, drive shaft, all tyres, door hinges, and I have just part exchanged it with an oil leak and water leak. I had only had the car a month when the engine management unit failed. An awful car, don't buy it if you want your rear passengers to have any leg room....fuel is economical and I think that is the only bonus. (read more)

The Peugeot 206 1.6 is a really great car for me. The ABS, powerful engine, air conditioning system brings me lots of joy when driving this good handling car. It's one of the best, if the services are done on time, as specified in the instruction manual. (read more)

I bought my Peugeot 206 XS in July 2002. In short, it's been in the garage every three months, if it's not a screeching fan belt, it's the suspension or a faulty door lock or the A/C pump. The most recent problem has to do with a very loud noise in the steering mechanism.

I think the build quality is very low and the reliability is well below average. (read more)

This car has caused me problems from about a month after it was bought new. The breaks screeched constantly making people turn and stare. We were told by the dealership it was because of the new asbestos free break pads and that all cars did it. After three attempts they told us that we could no longer bring it back for screeching breaks and they had done all they could. Peugoet UK said it was the dealership's issue, they weren't interested. I purchased a 206 in May 2002, and it hasn't given me any problems until now, when at 31,000 miles, it needs a new gearbox. Customer care are useless! They keep asking whether I took out an extended warranty. I have just paid £3,850 final payment for my car, and now I'm told it needs £1,200 worth of work done to it, of which Peugeot will accept no liability.

The Peugeot 206 1.6 GLX is a stylish, small compact car, it has plenty of accleration and the top speed is plenty adequete(125mph easy). The service that i've recieved from peugeot is rubbish, they don't respond to messages, and the parts take light years to arrive. Apart from this i'd recommend to any one. (read more)
