The Body by Stephen King is a book that has got a deep thought to it. I really liked it.
The story is takes place in Castle Rock. A boy Ray Brower is being missed. He was hit by a train. In the town it is wildly speculated what could have hapend to the boy.
As Verne Tessio a member of a little gang tells his friends that he knows where the body is, Gordie LaChance and his three friends, Chris Chambers, Teddy Duchamp, and Vern set out to look for it. They only carry some blankets, a little bit of food and a pistol, that belongs to Chris' dad.

This book is probably the most beautiful story ever written. There is something magical about the way King makes these characters and quotes which will get stuck inside your head for years. Like "I never had any friends later on like the ones I had when I was 12 - Jesus, did you?" Also its hard not to be touched be some of the scenes in it. I cried and laughed when I read Stephen King, The Body. An absolutely classic- Read Guest's review (80 words)

The Body is positively the best story I have ever read, and Stand By Me is absolutely the best movie I have ever seen. There is no one that can write a story as good as Stephen King and The Body is without a doubt the best story he has ever written, period.- Read Guest's review (53 words)

The story of Stephen King, The Body deals with friendship, companionship, empathy, love and fate. The duality between luck and bad luck or joy and grief. To sum up, it is not a very good book, but certainly much better than watching TV junk or chatting with flat characters.- Read Guest's review (76 words)

It was an exciting book to read. The movie is going to be even better because its always great to watch something that you read in a book and you get to see the characters for what they look like and you get to see how they act and what they really sound like. Even though it is an old movie and an old book those kinda of things are still happening today so it always great to read old things and compare them to today. I wouldn't read it again just because its on of those books that you only have ...- Read sam turner's review (328 words)

Stephen King, The Body (Penguin Readers: Level 5) - This was one of the first times I have watched a Stephen King film before reading the book. The film was Stand by Me and was such an amazing film. "The Body" was the short story that the film was based on, so I immediately went out and bought the book, as the book is always better than the film. It didn't disappoint, the book was so much better and takes the reader on an amazing journey through the childhood of the characters. Excellent.- Read seamore's review (91 words and 1 comment)
