Good Points: This book is impossible to put down. I'm 16 years old and still in high school. Every free moment I had during class was spent reading this book even if it was just a page or even a paragraph. I made the mistake of seeing the movie first. Most of the time I knew what was going to happen next. That kind of disappointed me. There were some suprising events towards the end that the movie never even hint on. It's a fairly decent sized book but every word is better than the next.
Bad Points: The foul language is a bit rough.
General comments: Of course, most of us probably heard about the Green Mile movie before Stephen King's book. It is a great movie, but the book is even better. It's about a character named Paul Edgecombe who is a prison guard for inmates who have been condemed to die for malicious acts they have committed. Paul has seen every type of inmate before the newest arrival and focus of the book, John Coffey. He is an enormous man with a mind of a child. Paul and his co-workers have to endure the pain and times of trial that come along with John Coffey. I cannot go any farther with this review, for I am afraid I will spoil the book.
Favorite Character- Eduard Delacroix and of course, Mr. Jingles.
