Good Points: Superb tiptronic gearbox, often emulated by other manufactuters, but no one gets close. Who needs a stick? Bomb proof engine. Fuel consumption of about 28-34 mpg! Beat that Aston/Ferrari! I use it everyday to travel to work, and for long motorway journeys. Neither is a problem, in fact, there arn't any problems. Sure, the odd rattle from the hood mechanism, but so what! I have a new 997 cab coming, and cannot wait. It did break down once. The warning light on the dash, self-diagnosed a non-existant fault! 45 minutes later a low loader arrived, followed by a new Mercedes estate, 2 hours later! Beat that for service! All free of course. Thanks Porsche for Quality and Service all round.

The Porsche 996 911 Carrera 2 Cabriolet Tiptronic is a great looking car and a complete joy to drive. Extremely fast and responsive with great brakes. A bit disappointed with some points though, there are rattles and squeaks everywhere. Also there is no grille to protect the oil cooler radiator. The cooler could easily become damaged by debris, which would be expensive to repair and also leave you stranded. For a car costing over £70k it is not acceptable.
