Good Points: -Clarity of expression -Graspable understanding of the different strands of discourse pertaining to postmodernism -Good substantiation, though not exhaustive -A systematic synthesis of the subject.
General comments: Christopher Butler's well written book has helped enormously to mark the distinction that exists between modernism and postmodernism. Though a very short introduction as the subtitle indicates, the book succeeds in handling lucidly its subject. The philosophical, social, lingusitc, political and lietery implications of postmodernism are impressive to anyone involved with investigations in such domains.
