I have had my V6 for 4 years . I was the second owner from new and it is a comfortable cruiser as well as offering a gutsy punch when you need it. Especially when in my area you get "little boys" in their big exhaust cars revving up beside you. Fuel economy not good BUT what a car I shall never get rid of it I am 62 now and will have my baby till I pass over. Mine has completed 90.000 miles and purrs I regulary drive to my sons some 130 miles one way and I arrive as good as new. A damn good... (read more)

Really great car, the engine sounds (especially on start up) and performs just as it should. Fully equipped and even with 133,000 miles on runs sweet, I suppose the only down side is consumption, but hey it's worth it. Just now ca'nt find anything I do'nt like. (read more)

Sounds great, smooth quiet when driving smoothly, heated seats and windows, comfortable all round.
This is a great car cheap to buy, nice to drive and upsets most BMWs and Audis, sadly struggles against new hot hatches such as the Peugeot 207 xs.

Surprised by this car, thought it would be a fairly depressing, boring thing to own, more utilitarian than something I'd actually want to drive, bought as a 2nd car, but wow! It's actually good....very good!
Extremely cheap 2nd hand, the sheer number of Ford Mondeos on the market mean it's a very good buy once it's done the bulk of it's depreciating, and it can embarrass my Lexus in a straight line.
Drives very well indeed, if it had a German badge people would be raving about it, tacky...

I loved the Ford Mondeo. 7 excellent years from 6k to 70k miles. 31-33 mpg reliably (like to cruise at 80) cruise at 60 and get 37-38 mpg. But car does better in summer. (read more)

Ford Mondeo 2.5i V6 24v Ghia X 4dr Is to slow, Its missing 500CC and about 70BHP. Where as the Zetec is good the ST220 is awsome. I would say that the Zetec is missing one important thing, a duratech engine. (read more)

THE FORD MONDEO 2.5i V6 24v GHIA X 4dr DRIVES LIKE A JAGUAR X-TYPE
ONLY DOWNSIDE IS THE 25 MPG AROUND TOWN BUT I DONT MIND PAYING FOR THAT. FOR ME NOW TRAFFIC JAMS ARE SOMETHING TO LOOK FORWARD TO. FULLY EQUIPPED.

I have the 2.5 v6 hatch auto, the combination of comfort (leather heated seats) performance (168 bhp, plenty of torque) and features:-6 cd, air con, heated front screen and door mirrors, abs, traction control, cruise, etc etc, make this a desirable mode of transport. at 21,000 new and at 3 yrs 4,500 a real executive car for small money. And if you wanted to spice things up theres a chip to give 10-15% increase in power, also a stainless steel exhaust with twin pipes giving an extra 10 bhp, a... (read more)

Had one for about 18 months now. No major problems except for moderately heavy tyre wear. Incidentally, don't ever buy Pirelli P6000s for the Mondeo, they're impossible to balance on alloy wheels because more often than not the tyres themselves are out of shape. Stick to Continental Contact Sport2 tyres, they are great on a Mondeo. Fuel consumption is quite acceptable on motorways, particularly if you use the cruise Contol. Handling just fine, brakes OK for me, no problems in that department at all. Acceleration and top speed more than acceptable. Very comfortable heated leather seats. Front windscreen heater elements not all working now, but doesn't matter since I use the A/C to demist the screen anyway. All told, a great car.

I found this review helpful because... It gave a good overall impression of the car (more info would be have been great as I've just bought one!) but summed it up I think.

It's a fuse, it's not marked as for the AC, it's the one marked as the heated washer jets. Check the jets first!
