The Firework-maker's Daughter is funny with some good character names. It's boring in parts but a cool book overall.

it was a pretty boring book. If you're looking for an interesting read you should read Pullman's HDM trilogy. Those books were hot. Save yourself from boredom and don't read this book.

Philip Pullman, Nick Harris, The Firework-maker's Daughter is a wonderful children's novel which is supported by the moral that you must work hard to achieve your dreams. The story centres around a girl called Lila, who wants to be a firework maker, however her father doesn't think she can do it because she's a girl.
