Good Points: big keys lights up well easy to use making phone calls or text

Bad Points: at the time it was a good phone the only thing that i can think off was the battery was nothing great but at the time it was fine but know gadgets like the phones of today

General comments: The Bosch 509e takes me back to my first phone just a phone not like the phones of today.

overall it is a good phone but it has no battery storage. It is a good first phone but it is expensive to make calls- even to your own answerfone! I would recommend the phone, but you need to keep alot of credit stored.

The Bosch 509e mobile phone works well. It is bog standard but so what? You can talk to other people through it-what else do you want?

The Bosch 509e mobile phone would be good for no nonsense people who don't want to play games, have interesting ring tones or amusing graphics on their front screens. If you've never used a mobile before in your life then you may enjoy re-writing the welcome note to pass the time or organising your address book in a variety of two ways. That's about the maximum joy you can obtain from this functional phone.

Worth getting something better than the Bosch 509e phone (like a nokia). But if you want something cheap and easy to use get the BOSCH!

On the whole I like the bosch 509 phone mainly because it is so easy to use. Both me and my friend have the phone. He recommended it to me and I have been very happy with it.

The Bosch 509e phone is a very cheap, basic phone (no 'gimmicks' like games or ringing tone downloaders or composers or wireless web) but good value for money. way better than certain cheap unusable phones like the ericsson A1018s.
it's not small but it's not really bulky, and it's pretty light.
don't buy if you're not one to charge batteries daily (twice a day)

The Bosch 509e is ok on a basic level - childs first phone perhaps - but after having a nokia its not a patch on it, no games, no clock, no downloads, can't receive pictures text messages ....

Generally decent mobile phone at its time, but user interface not a patch on Nokia.
The worst thing about this phone was its battery, as described above. Also the software bugs and shortfalls are annoying - I'll describe them below:
    1) Missed calls get lost if you press the wrong button
    2) Supposedly can set different alert tones for SMS and answerphone messages, but feature doesn't work
    3) Can't include somebody's number from the phone book in a text message - very annoying having to resor ...

my story is simular to another one here. i had this phone, my mate john had this phone, as did his dad, as did my mate tim.oh, and my mate richard too.
it seemed to last well, though my friend tim's phone busted when it got wet.
it has a good range of facilties and a good range of ring tones for what seems now outdated, and would probably still cut it if re-released in a smaller 'package' in today's market. it was easily as good -bar the lack of games- as the old nokia 402e.

I had this phone, my best mate had this phone, my brother had this phone, my parents both had a phone like this. As i used mine most i saw it first. The battery life dropped dramatically to a few days to maybe a few hours. Then it failed to charge even though i used several different chargers. My best mates phone did the same, my brothers too and now my mothers has started to require charging every day. Although to be honest - my dad's phone is still going on strong. My advice - buy an ericsson
