Good Points: Great engine, handling and comfort.

Bad Points: A couple of things not even worth writing about.

General comments: One of the best cars I'll ever own, the engine is so powerful for one with out a turbo. I've dusted so many good sports cars with this type r. It sounds, looks and performs perfectly.

Summary for Honda Civic 2.0i VTEC:
I've driven this car and its a delight! The dual climate control is such a snazzy gimmick! Plus the leather steering etc - they all make the interior of this car fantastic. As for how well its drives - I'd say very good. Not the best but its still super quick and yet comfortable at the same time. Nippon car parts think its ok, they don't seem too enthused over it though! I'd say 8/10 any day for this beauty!

I have been after a type R for ages. I have had it for over one month now and my jaw is still sore from grinning so much. It is a brilliant car. It feels pokey enough much like a normal 2L engine. Unleash the V-tec and all hell breaks loose. the sound is amazing and very addictive. The car has a great look to it and a very nice interior. The gearstick position is perfect.

The turning circle is not the best and the steering wheel gets in the way of seeing the top of the speedo. I love this car ...

I owned a Honda Civic 2.0 Type R for a year and had great fun driving it - it always started in the morning, was very reliable and the best thing was when the V-tech powers up and the car comes alive. I would recommend this car to anyone - I am just about to buy another one as they are that good.

We bought this car after being taken for a spin in our neighbours and we couldn't believe how crazily fast it was. After taking it for a test drive ourselves, we knew it had to be. It is a very comfortable drive given it's low, firm suspension, and handles very well through corners. The gear stick is mounted on the dash, which enables you to rapidly change when accelerating. The VTech kicks in at 6000rpm, as long as the engine is warm. The front seats are very comfortable - we drove around E ...

Had my CTR for 2 months and I have to say this is the best car I have ever driven. The speed on this is fantastic and leaves a lot of other cars for dead. This car is brilliant in the vtec zone 0-60 time is 6.6 but I'm sure I have done this a lot quicker. Bad point is the wheel arches. I set off fast at a junction as there was a 1.8 Corsa wanting to test me. The wheels spun and the Corsa was a dot in my mirror. Upon getting home and out of the car, however, I noticed that the wheel arch was snap ...

Overall I really like the Honda Civic 2.0 Type R, it looks great and the value for money can't be beat. At 6,000 revs the V-TEC kicks in and the Type-R really shows what it can do, it is just a shame you have to get to 6,000 revs before that kicks in.

The gear stick, which I thought I wouldn't like, I now love. The position is perfect for quick gear changes and means you can keep both hands on the wheel a lot more of the time. The handling is good but you will have to treat it smoothly at spe ...

I love my Civic Type-R more than any car previously owned! It looks incredible, is faster than most and has been my dream car for a long time. Once you reach 7000 revs, you, as the driver are forced back into your seat as your car propells forwards. The gear stick is positioned very closely to the steering wheel for quick, smooth gear changing and the racing seats keep you firmly in position.
One problem I do find is pulling out quickly from standing position without wheel-spinning when it's we ...

I have owned my Honda Civic Type-R since new(04) The first time you experience the V-tec surge you become totally hooked. The interior is basic, but looks good and the racing seats are perfect for when you are throwing it around country lanes. My only problem with the car and it is so bad that I hate driving it in the wet is its handling(in the wet). It is virtually impossible to get any power down if it is even slightly wet and it understears at embarassingly slow speeds. I would not even expec ...

Had my Honda Civic type R 18 months now but unfortunately I'm currently looking at a new car, possibly a Seat Leon Cupra R - read some good reviews. Would definitely get another Type R some time in the future though. It is unfortunate because I absolutely love the Type R, however I bought the car 18 months ago for £14,000 and I'l be lucky if I get £8,500 for it now! I have caned the milage though.

The best thing about the car has to be the acceleration. Flooring the accelerator i ...

I have had the car since new (April 2004) and have had no trouble with it at all. It currently has 20k on the clock. I have had to replace the front tyres at 12k miles but managed to get them for £95.00 each at a local tyre supplier so not too bad. The car is like a normal family Hatch when you want it to be but turns into a wild animal at the drop of a gear!! Fantastic!!

I've had my Honda Civic Type R for 18 months now and it has been by far the best motor purchase of my short existance on this planet. Driving is never a chore in one of these babys. Seen off many a few boy racers with modified Audis, MG's, Astras. had my Type R at over 150mph but think the road conditions favoured me heavilly on that one, as not done it since. It definitely does not handle a wet road to cleverly though and a full tank on moderate driving will last you approximately 250 miles, he ...

Take a test drive in the Honda Civic 2.0 Type R, in the right conditions very little will knock it (factory spec!).

The Honda Civic 2.0 Type R is a good reliable fast car. Gets 4 people in with comfort on the longer drives. Can reach just over 40mph in first gear.
The car gets to 140mph very quickly but then after this it does struggle but it does go over 145mph.
Also everyone I know loves this car unlike subaru's and evo's. So you will get a lot of attention even from people over 50.
Recomend buying 6 months to 12 months old as you will save at least £3000.

I have just recently bought my Honda Civic 2.0 Type R and all I can say is I didn't waste my money. It looks great, sounds great and with near to 200 bhp can pull you 0-60 in a mere 6.6 seconds (approx). For a hot hatch it is extremely comfortable on long journeys for both driver and passangers. Will be enjoying the experience of the Typr-R for a few years to come.

The Honda Civic 2.0 Type R Sports Car puts a smile on my face every time I go out in it! The engine is fantastic and despite what you might be told pulls strongly from all revs, when you hit around 5,500rpm it changes altogether and turns into an angry animal of a car, but you can still have fun driving normally too! The steering is excellent although handling in the wet can be scary at times, and forget going out in one when it is icy, leave it at home and get the train...trust me. Its a loud c ...

I've had my Honda Civic 2.0 Type R Sports Car for two years now,the first 18 months were fantastic, the car was amazing, having never had a sporty car before it didn't take much to impress though. the car was fast but once i got out of the honeymoon period I started to wish i'd splashed out on aircon a £1000 extra (a must if your thinking of buying one.) It gets very hot in there. After 18 months the passenger side suspension arm went. In the garage for two days. Two weeks later took it i ...
