Good Points: The Mondeo 1.8 Zetec is an excellent drive, and spacious and practical for a family of 4.
Build quality is good overall and I have no rust on my 7 year old car, which is a first with me on a Ford.
Bad Points: My seats have become permanently stained and faded, possibly due to being over cleaned by a previous owner, but are of a far inferior and absorbant material to all the 4 Granadas I owned in the past.
An electrical door lock and boot lock seized up all last Winter, and did not work properly. However work now that the weather has improved.
There is a bad intermittent clattter from what i am told is a butterfly inlet valve on the engine, which makes the engine noisy from the outside.
The 2001-2004 Mondeo CO2 just tips it into the expensive road tax bracket ( £220?) which is a rediculous amount for the most economical petrol Mondeo.
Very few models (only the Ghia and ST) are available with a sunroof, which really spoils the car's appeal as far as I am concerned.
General comments: My fifth Ford in 18 years, as a brand they have all provided reliable and fairly economical motoring, which is why I stick with them for I use my own money.
(I have bought all of them second hand, although I once had a company Sierra.)
Everyone rates the Mondeo as a fine car.

Overall the Ford Mondeo 1.8i ZETEC is a fantastic family car. Great handling and ride although some might say a little firm but I like that. The rear seats are easily big enough for three adults and has 3 x 3 point seat belts no lap belts. I will definatley be buying another one but cant see the need really for a few years this does everything very well. One of the biggest bonuses is the enormous boot which is ideal for families. I wo.uld NEVER buy a new one though depreciation is awful- Read barrelman's review (146 words)

If you want an all round performer that can take a decent sized family and that doesn't feel likle a compromise, you can't beat the Ford Mondeo. The Mondeo handles superbly and doesn't feel radically different to the Focus. I would definitely recommend this car to anyone. Great trim in the Zetec, too, for toy lovers.- Read Elidor's review (195 words)

Ford Mondeo 1.8i 125 Zetec 5dr is a great Car. I bought my car about three months ago and i've had nothing but pleasure from it thus far. Its also a very spacious car...thats important to me for two reasons. One i've got a family...enough said there. Two, when i'm out clubbing, it may come in handy if I pick up a girl!!!
Seriously, the interior is very classy for a Ford, engine ticks over sublimly and the safety features are second to none.
The biggest compliment I can pay the car is I w ...- Read Area 51's review (146 words)
