A good sized family car let down by woeful reliability and build quality. A true seven seater that can accomodate three child seats across the second row. Curtain air bags lend a sense of safety.
Fuel efficiency is its one cost saving feature. Engine performs well (when it works).

Our Ford Galaxy was bought with reasonably high mileage (80k in four years) but with a full service history. In the 11 months I have owned this vehicle:

The air con has had a faulty sensor and compressor ( very expen ...

I love my galaxy 1.9 zetec I've had it 6 years with no major problems. It doubles up as a van and I'm in great demand for moving things.

I've had one on-going problem that no one seems to be ablet to sort. The oil light stays on. Ive sort of learnt to live with it but I would love to know what it is and sort it.

I bought a Ford Galaxy Zetec tdi, auto, 115bhp on a Y plate. I found out the auto gearbox is gone. I went to the dealer and told me it would cost me about £3400. Can't find any second hand.

I own a Ford Galaxy 1.9 TDi Zetec 115 and I find it really enjoyable and went overseas and not even one problem occurred. I expect a lot of people to buy the new Ford Galaxy. It's also very cheap to run!

The Ford Galaxy is very practical for every day use, I drive around city but have continuous problem with engine and no one seems to know exactly the reason. It's just totally no power, I have driven like this for a year now, some say one injector is not working some say turbo, if you have an idea please help me I could pay for check up to.
So when I restart the car I have to reach around 30mph and 2500rp then it starts go work better but still twice less power than should be. Recently its star ...

My Ford Galaxy is very well used as I use it for work. I am averaging about 60k miles a year. I have recently been having problems with my gearbox but only when I am climbing a hill. It doesn't have to be a steep hill just a small incline. I have had it put on 4 (yes 4) diagnostic computers at 4 different garages and there is no fault found. I have contacted Ford Head Office and hopefully they are going to get to the bottom of the problem. I will let you know at a later date

I have experience tyre wear in my Ford Galaxy and can not identify the cause. Rear tyres (Dunlop - so good brand) last 10k miles and are worn to the metal on the inside edge approximately 2-3 inches across the tyre. Both rears the same - but can only assume something serious is wrong, any ideas welcome.

All in all I love the Ford Galaxy. People carriers can be quite intimidating if you can't see out of them but it has fantastic visibility, I just bought an E-7 Peugeot hackney and I can't see a thing out of the rear and side!!!

I changed from a Zafira Energy 2.0DTi to my Galaxy 1.9 TDi Zetec (115 PS) in March 2005 and what a wonderful swap it has been. The cabin has that much needed extra space compared to the Zafira and other MPV's which I've owned and the handling is virtually saloon like.
I particularly enjoy the motorway cruising, just over 2100rpm @ 70 mph with the 6 speed gearbox, and surprisingly quiet too. I've returned mid 40's in mpg with a fully laden vehicle. In the town the ultrasonic parking sensors are ...

Bought the Ford Galaxy 1.9 TDi Zetec 115 People Carrier in October, and had high expectations of the car. It's nice to drive, and the children love it's styling. It is also very cheap to operate on diesel, average of 6-7 litres/100 km in winter time. I have trouble getting the heater to work effectively in winter and in temparatures below zero- the local Ford dealer cannot find the problem.

The Ford Galaxy 1.9 TDi Zetec 115 is a great people carrier but spoilt by poor build quality. I have had quite a few cars in my time but this has to be the worst yet in terms of time spent 'off the road'. Problem is also compounded by the reluctance of the dealers to explore the fault if it is not listed by Ford. Understandable, but very frustrating.

If you own a ford galxy 2GLX 1995 onwards and it doesn't start but fires over then try tapping the number 30 relay switch under the dash on the drivers side while turning the car over.
