I have owned my BMW X5 3.0 D Sport for 4 and a half years now. It was bought second hand for £30k from a BMW franchise dealer on a 52 plate with 23k miles. It now has 90k. Its a quality car and I am happy with it. Ok its depreciated but I aim to keep it. Maintenance costs work out cheaper than my previous Honda Accord car. Once the warranty ran out I took it to a BMW specialist garage. Mine narrowly ranges bewteen 22.4 and 23.3, running fast or slow, heavy or light makes little difference ...

I bought my 2004 X5 with 20000 miles on the clock 6 months ago and its been a nightmare. 4 breakdowns, Turbo blown, wheel bearings gone, electrics died (locked me out of car!) air-con died. Seat jammed. A truly poor car, it has really put me off buying another BMW and I've spoken to other X5 drivers here in Ireland who have had similar experiences.

After 3 years it still seems the best car overall we have owned, also fuel consumption overall is very close to manufacturers figures, that can,t be said for many models.

The BMW X5 3.0D Sport 4x4 diesel is a joy to drive, with excellent road manners for such a large car. You would not know it is a diesel to drive with gutsy low range torque, with the turbo giving a firm push in the back from about 1600rpm. The 19 inch wheels sit out wide giving stability that would shame most sedans. The common rail injection not only gives power and smoothness comparable to a larger capacity pertol engine, but economy is remarkable, with 7.8 l/100kms. Even with heavy towing, ec ...

The BMW X5 3.0d Sport is an all-rounder in its category. Exceptional drive experience, fun and solid. Looks great.

In terms of value for money, could leave you short changed.
