Good Points:
General comments: Celia Rees, Pirates! is an amazing book! I loved the unromanticized view of piracy. It really seemed real and true to life. Nancy was an entertaining character and will stick in my mind for a long time. My middle school class read it and everyone liked it... there was something for everyone's personal tastes.
However, I was a little disappointed in the lack of conclusiveness in the ending, I would have liked it to have a sequel. I also was a little shocked by the "naughtiness" of the book. Although I understand that it was necessary to include some of the graphic material, I think that it would have not suffered to have been in smaller doses.
Great book, not for kids!

I saw my best friend reading this book at school and she said that it was a really good book to read so she let me borrow it and i have to say it is one of the best books i have ever had the pleasure to read. It certainly kept up to the standards of which my friend had set and surpassed the standards i had set. Which by the way were very high and so i would recommend this book to any young adults or just plain adults to read as you will enjoy it.- Read shexiilillaura's review (186 words)

Celia Rees, Pirates! is a great book, I've read half of it and it's taken me 1 and a half terms and it's really well written. I really enjoy it and so does my friend Jenna. I'll tell you what I thought of it again when I finish reading it! Cheers- Read hey there's review (50 words)
