“Card Suspended Without Notice”

I paid my Tesco Clubcard Credit Card bill in full, in fact I overpaid by a few pence by rounding up to a whole pound, on 2nd August - the payment was due on 6th August. On 17th August I was checking my bank account as there seemed to be more money there than I had expected, and I found that although the bank had receipted the credit card bill as paid, they had in fact failed to pay it. “Appalling application process”

Don't bother applying for a Tesco credit card unless you are prepared to jump through hoops backwards whilst reciting the Marseillaise. After being told I had arrears on my credit card due to a payment of £25 which needed to be paid every month which was sent out in a letter I did not receive. I have tried for an hour to talk to a person however all numbers are automated and don't have the information I need. It is an absolute joke that it is this difficult to talk to a person over the phone about my account. “poor contact options premium rate number”

if you have a question that requires you to speak to some one then you have to call the high rate number. then you are given options to press eg 1 for stolen etc. I couldnt get through to right area was all automated. i couldnt get to speak to any one. i went into a loop. hung up and dialled again. waited a while then decided to press option 1 for stolen so i may get to speak to a human. waited ages. then they hung up or line went dead. i paid what i saved in interest in call fees. You went on holiday with one credit card? Firstly,did you inform them that you were going on vacation... I have a couple of cards,you should always have two just in case one a situation happens,in your case no means of paying for a meal. I also take money when I am away and leave it in the hotel safe. I only take enough to eat and drink. I maybe wrong saying this however,you come across as living of your cards. How on earth can you go over your credit limit. To be fair,you deserve to be charged the over limit fee. However,the poor service that you received is not. I would of complained to the executives office and insisted the rude advisors to be reprimanded. I have been a tesco credit card customer for approximately three years and ain't had any transactions declined. Nor have I been stupid enough to max my cards out. For future reference could I suggest you take at least some money with you when you are travelling even if it's only a couple of hundred pounds even if it's a pre paid one. Learn by your own mistakes and move on. I do recommend Nationwide

I took out the Tesco Clubcard credit card last week due to the 18 month 0% interest on purchases offer. Received the card and PIN in good time. During my first weekend of use my card got blocked half way during the day leaving me unable to pay for goods the family needed. Tried calling the helpline numerous times but was put off by answer message that they are experiencing extremely long wait times. “Tesco Bank Credit Card Treat Loyal Customer Badly”

After several years of paying my bill on time and in full every month, I was 1 DAY late this time and got hit with £41 interest charges. I put over £25k through the card last year (£2k per month) and always pay as soon at the bill comes. I spoke to Tesco Bank Customer Services and they really could not have cared less! “ATM?”

Continuing problem of being unable to edit the pin code or view the balance in an ATM even when the card has been unlocked. The on-line access has recently got a little better, you can now see other bank products you have with TESCO, but it is still a battle to log on. I like to delete cookies on browser, so this means I have to have a text message every time I want to log on. I'm still carrying another card when I go shopping just in case. “Last Date to pay Credit Card account”

Brilliant, my statements often states the latest payment date is 8th of a month, that sometimes is a Sunday. The actual statement date is around the 18th. I paid in time and they acknowledged payment in time , Tesco CC processed it one day late. Ah well, for such intransigence, I am now using another card.. Tesco CC for the second month balance remains at NIL spent. Ah well, another dissatisfied customer, their loss!.

Exactly the same happened to me. I paid on a Saturday via FAST payment, but lo and behold, the ba5tard5 screwed me for interest because the funds hadn't cleared in time!
Customer Service was appalling. I asked when was the account paid in full? Reply it was paid on Saturday the 21st. When was the account due? Sunday 22nd. Why was I charged interest? Err, well, errr because we didn't get the funds cleared until the 23rd! But my payment was made via FAST payment on the 21st? Yes! And it was due on the 22nd? Yes! But your computer system conveniently shafted me for interest!!! CLOSE MY ACCOUNT IMMEDIATELY! Adios Tesco Credit Card! Bunch of 5hy5ter5!

I applied for their credit card and initially got refused back in September and appealed due to info on my experian report being incorrect. Hence to say I got accepted once I explained my situation to their underwriting dept. It took me 1 month to receive my card due to having to provide id and proof of address by getting it validated by the post office for a £7.50 fee got the card regularly phone their customer service and I get through to the Scottish call centre. “Exchanging vouchers online”

“Instant Cash not as promised”

I have a Tesco credit card and I took up the offer of instant cash transferred into another account. The promise online and in confirmation email was that if you requested instant cash b4 530pm the monies would be transferred the same day. I discovered, when my monies had failed to materialise after 27 hours and having completed the transaction at 8am, that Tesco then say - " it can take 2 days". I had a tesco credit card for about four month.I always paid the full amount on time yet I noticed they always asked for a minimum payment of around twenty five pounds no matter how much I spent when most other cards have a minimum payment of five pounds. “Blocked cards cause pain and frustration”

Couldn't agree more. Putting petrol in car and booking a hotel for a weekend away = unusual spending. Would love to know what Tesco classify as "usual spending". Has happened too often, no confidence in the card so closing the account.

“Hidden charges- shocking”

Having just returned from holiday where I used my Tesco credit card to try and collect point - I was shocked to receive a 2.75 foreign exchange fee. I have travelled frequently over many years using my HSBC mastercard and VISA barclaycard and have NEVER been charged a fee. “Typically Disappointing of Tesco”
