I have had a bonus point clubcard Credit Card for around 9 months now.

It was a bit a pain to setup online side as they needed a password which you had to write in to them after you recieved you card. The web site is OK but could be better.

Customer services is not that great, aside from basic stuff, you have to write in inside of dealing via telephone.

That is a bad comments out the way. Plus side, they dealt with a online transaction quickly and the points have been racking up. About £1,200 average monthly spend out of which £500 is at tesco, I have managed to get £600 money off in vouchers so far in 9 months.

Am unable to get the Tesco Credit Card online service working after 7 phone calls and a promise that someone will call me back last Friday - they didn't. Complete and utter waste of time and doesn't inspire any confidence even if they do eventually get it to work for me! This has to be the worst experience I've ever had in setting up a credit card. And they have the audacity to blame my bank when I have used the same bank /card with never a problem for over 20 years. They should stick to stockin ...

My Tesco Credit Cardwas used for fraud and not picked up for several weeks and after closing my account and having an over payment refunded, and a letter confirming the account was settled i was charged interest and a late payment fee as i had no access to my account or any statement sent through!

Its disgusting given the amount of money tesco make! I even going to avoid shopping in tesco now!!!

    TESCO PLATINUM MASTERCARD
Have had this card for about 4 years now and have never had any problems - quite the contrary, in fact as I have earned large numbers of points with which I have bought items from their Store. The latest being an excellent microwave.

I do pay off my card every month as I do not like paying interest charges and sometimes I have done this through my on-line Bank Account and sometimes on Tesco's on-line banking. ( this is quite often because I want to check what has gone ...

Make most of my purchases these days using a credit or debit card issued by my bank. However I get zero reward on either, so I decided to get a Tesco Credit Card to at least earn something back....be it only a few more club card points. Was expecting a low credit limit to be set after speaking to other people I know who have the card but oddly the limit I was given was very high. Had some trouble changing the PIN number of the card when it first arrived but found customer services easy to access ...

Customer service is appalling. They are rude and unhelpful. Interest was paid on a transaction online they said it was "cash up front" I couldn't manage to make her explain where was that indicated....

Very bad Customer Service from Tesco Credit Card.

Having pressed a total of 37 buttons on the phone to gain access to a human to talk about my Tesco credit card my temper was at a medium to warm level. i seemed to be destined this day as I was put through to a young operator who to all intent and purpose stated that the Computor said No when I asked about a creidt limit increase. I asked how this could be achieved and he stated one could write to the Credit review team. I asked to speak to them and was told " I am sorry they dont speak to custo ...

I regularly shop in Tesco, so I use their card to get the extra club card points. There was a short payment period when I initially got my card. I rang them as the due date did no coincide with my pay day. They were extremely helpful and moved my due date to one which was a few days after my pay date. Excellent service. I have had no problems to date.

Tesco Finance wrote to me and told me not to use my card any longer as they stopped me using the account, because I made a late payment in June, they changed me late payment fee, which I accepted but this took me over my limit by 22p, and charged overlimit fee of £2.
After phoning them, they were rude when I asked if they could waiver this fee as a goodwill gesture because of my mistake and had never happened before, were totally unhelpful to the point where I won't ever put money tesco ...

Has anyone else discovered that Tesco Finance (RBS) call full payment DIRECT DEBITS up to five days in advance of the given 'Due Payment ' date?

When asked, they said it was within their 'terms and conditions'.

No other Financial Institute, I know calls for DIRECT DEBITS payment BEFORE.
In fact, If weekends or Bank Holidays intercede, the call is always made the day LATER.

By collecting payment early, the interest Tesco accrues
pays for the points at the customer's expense.

The call centre used by Tesco finance is the most awful ever encountered.
If something goes wrong some of the staff can be hopeless.
I waited 3 months for £2000 that they owed me, after 20/30 calls and promises of a cheque it came after I spoke to a supervisor. He then promised a cheque for compensation which I am still waiting for.

VERY short payment period, so like the other reviewer I've been stung when my payment hasn't reached there in time, although always pay off in full, and attempt in time. My payment failed this month due to a change to my online banking (not TESCO), and I received a letter regarding my default sent on the same day that the payment was due, adding a charge to my account. I contacted them the same evening at abou 5.30pm and explained I thought it ought to have been paid, but I would contact my bank ...

I have good credit rating so far and always paid my bills on time. I have no Mortgages and no debts. I rent a furnished flat and work full time. yet credit card not approved. Is it because I pay it regularly with out allowing any interest applied on credit?

Get yourself a Tesco Credit Card and use it for all the bills that life throws at you. Pay it off at the end of the month by direct debit and watch the points build up. Use them to get holiday vouchers etc and off you go...easy as that. The website gives highly accurate spending balances so you can keep track and know what the monthly bill is going to be. Also you can alter the pay date so it coincides with or just after pay day. Get those points and treat yourself!

I pay my Tesco credit card off every month and the account has largely looked after itself. Tesco were very prompt in supplying the card in the first instance and there is certainly no criticism there. Balances can be viewed online and the system seems to work OK.

The big disadvantage is the length of time it takes to get statements out. Usually these arrive less than a week before the payment due date so that it is impractical to rely on the bill if you are going to manage your finances proper ...

Wouldn't recommend Tesco credit card what so ever unless you pay your C/C off by D/D fully every month as they don't give you any lea way. I pay my card off every month in full and have an excellent credit rating but when i asked for a higher limit of more than 3.5k as used for work as well as private they refused the same as when i asked for the time period of the bill payment to be lengthened. Hence in the 14 months i've had the card i've been stung twice for going over my limit and the last b ...

Overall, I have always received good customer service from Tesco. I get Clubcard Points on all my spending and I get email alerts if I go over the amount I specified. I can see my statements and manage my account online.

Tesco credit card gave me the incorrect information about 0% interest rates. You have to take pot luck which call centre you get, and if you wish to talk to the other one you have to redial until you get lucky!!!!

Worst of all, they told me the FSA sets their credit limits. So I have contacted the FSA.

    I have cancelled mine.

If you have a Tesco credit card, I just hope you don't ever need to sort something out. If you can guarantee no problems, use it. A pragmatic view...don't go for it.

I always clear my balance on my card, and just use it to gain the clubcard points. I asked for a credit limit increase, as I was buying some furniture. I was told that I had to produce bank statements showing that I had a bank balance equal to or greater than the credit limit!!

The Tesco credit card finance policy is Only £1k increments every 6 months.

Someone will have to explain that one to me. Why would anyone ask for credit if they had the cash in the bank?
