I've viewed films on the budget players before purchasing this machine & I thinks it's in a class of it's own. The picture & sound quality, especially through a Dolby Digital Amp, is outstanding. I haven't had any problems with lip sync even after the layer change (all you get there is a slight pause & fade).
It's more expensive than the rest but its definately been worth every so far.
It can only be described as a "must have" item.

I own a 717 and actually it DOES output RGB through the scart sockets, but you have to enable this in the setup menu.
