Good Points: A good looking TV with good sound and a vibrant picture

Bad Points: Reliability - see below

    General comments: Be Warned

The horizontal lock on my Toshiba 28ZD26P Television failed giving a picture reminiscent of the standard 4:3 format. Mended under guarantee but 3 weeks later the main circuit board fried - lots of smoke and crackling ! The engineer commented that the model was flimsy in its construction and recommended a Panasonic.

A friend of mine purchased exactly the same model at exactly the same time but has experienced no problems

I bought the Toshiba 28ZD26P just before reading the above review by Ian B, which made me worry, but after getting it I don't understand where he is coming from. I found no noticble 'buzzing' noise from the TV, even on mute. Maybe Toshiba have fixed this problem, or it was only on his TV.
I'm really happy with mine, the picture in Progressive scan mode is fantastic, and the options provided by the TV are great.
I can only recommend this to others, and for this spec of TV the price can be great ...

This 28" Toshiba 28ZD26P widescreen 100 Hz TV has great picture quality. The auto widescreen feature works seamlessly. The controller is simple to use, and switch to between Scart inputs is easy.
2 of the 3 Scart sockets can be set up as A/V or S-video (Ideal for DVD input), there is also a separate RGB input for devices that support it, and AV sockets on the front allow easy access for Camcorders. Video modes supported are PAL, SECAM, and NTSC. All in all this TV is full of useful features.
