Good Points: It contains everything you could wish to know.
Bad Points: It contains a good deal that is not necessary. It is no longer a handbook for beginners as it was originally.
General comments: Starting with the original edition of the The Runner's Handbook in 1978, I have always had a copy in my posession. I kept loaning it and then replacing it. I prized its simplicity. I now have the new book and am very disappointed. It tries to be everything to everybody. It is no longer simple. What is wrong with it is what is wrong with society generally - information overload. It is no longer a handbook, it is an encyclopedia!
