Good Points: Interesting narrative coupled with written text and storyboards. Smooth motion and camera angles. Good coordination between keyboard and mouse to control movement. High quality graphics. Great music and quality recording of dialogue. Attention to detail which allows Max to activate/manipulate items not directly involved in solution path. Great story development.
Bad Points: Can't really come up with any.
General comments: I haven't given in to the X-box, Nintendo ... etc. fad and therefore have suffered from the increasing reduction in PC-based computer games. Max Payne works great on the PC and proves that quality high-graphic games can still be developed for the PC.

This game should not be allowed to play by small kids...because they have really scary videosand sounds too..so children under 13 should not be allowed to play.

Don't let lower graphics put you off this great game, Max Payne will entertain you. The way some enemies die is hilarious and the weapons are diverse and all have advantages in different situations. It has the 30 second factor, in other words it has 30 seconds of fun which it can repeat throughout the whole game with challenging levels and well designed maps. In short it is well worth a buy and, since its very cheap, what are you waiting for?

This game is a simple shot 'em' up, but it's just not very challenging, e.g. you just run up to enemies and shoot them. And you can save the game at any time by pressing F5, which may sound good, but it just makes it too easy. The graphics are great, and you don't need a good graphics card.
Buy this game because it's a cheap thrill, but it's not much more. Max Payne 2 is supposed to be much better. I might give that a try.

Max Payne has a short storyline thus resulting in a short game. The weapons in this game are by far one of the more realistic guns.

Great third person shooter adventure, play it in the DOA setting. I have played it several times to the conclusion, but I haven't made it to the end in the NY minute mode (yet). I found the most difficult area to shoot my way out of, was the demonic Valkyr dealers lair. There are several tough shootouts. The cafe inferno maze took a few attempts to complete and those dream sequences are a pain. Getting past the corporate lobby was a challenging use of the sniper rifle. Players should check door ...

Max Payne for the PC (from Remedy Entertainment) is the best 3rd person shooter out. It has great graphics and it has a realistic plot.
