Good Points: Nice price for the hardware included - features FM radio and plenty of zoom and WS options.
Bad Points: Unacceptably dark with RGB.
General comments: I bought this Philips 28pw6206/01 TV since it seemed an ideal solution for me as I have a restricted budget and do not want to invest in a 100hz yet, but still wanted decent widescreen performance. It had the added bonus of having an FM tuner, meaning I'd get a radio hooked up to my audio system without having to shell out for a FM/AM unit.
I've now owned it for three months, and overall I'm fairly happy with it, but I still wish I had never bought it. Why? Because whenever I turn my console on or watch a DVD, I want to use an RGB signal for best quality. Sadly, this model (I am not familiar with other Philips models) tends to show RGB at an unacceptably dark level. Raising the brightness does not help, as there is nothing but black in the dark areas.
I know that I will be very careful about this sort of thing the next time I'm shopping for a TV set, and with this I hope to warn others so that they can make sure the set they buy has adequate RGB performance.
