I took a facebook ad campaign with Answer IT in July 2012. I was told the monthly cost and set up fee. Then they came back to me and said I needed a facebook business page which they could set up for me £300 plus VAT. I thought the cost was too much and said as much so they agreed to cut the cost in half. I then accepted. Unfortunately we engaged with Answer IT in 2010 thanks to pushy agressive sales people and being new to online marketing we thought we'd give them a go. Throughout our time with them we never dealt with the same person - their staff turnover is appalling and they seem to employ people who are defensive, aggressive and constantly talk over you. Answer IT provided us with no service of any benefit, they did a hard sell and then our 'Account Manager' managed to do nothing except promise "x 1,000's impressions on Facebook", which we found impossible to verify. Absolute nightmare company !! After agreeing to a special offer for facebook advertising (after a hard pitch sell) of £99 this went ahead ! What a pile of rubbish !!!! The advertisement they put together was absolute pants ! My 4 year old is more creative I had no hits or no increase in business ! In fact I don't think they could prove the ad even ran !! Answer IT took over my web space from Lavora Marketing. I found them to be very pushy. They charged against my credit card automatically at renewal time when I hadn't authorised it. The gave me the hard sell on useless Facebook pages and web page renewal. I found them very abrupt to deal with when anything went wrong, and their editing facilities and admin were very limited. Unfortunately from time to time a nice sounding salesman sells the services of a company you wish you had never gotten involved with. These guys embark on an American style of salesmanship, and when you are agrieved. Guaranteed there will be something in the small print which mean you still owe them money. Distance selling regulations do not cover you when it all goes wrong with these sharks. When I signed up over the telephone I thought that I had 7 days 'cooling off' period. I was wrong. I was given the hard sell over the phone & foolishly agreed to an advertising Campaign on Facebook for £99+ vat for a year. I was given NO login details to view my results & furthermore nobody ever saw an advert for my Company on Facebook. Emails to Answer IT were never answered. I tried to stop the payments going from my Bank but as i had given Answer IT my Debit Card details, they were simply doing a "customer not present" transaction through a card terminal each month. These guys are good.....at scamming! They are excellent at selling their proposition to you and won't take NO for an answer. They are also good at only taking a bit at a time from you, so you barely notice it, until the 3rd or 4th time, the alarm bells start to ring. Their results are poor...in fact their results are non existant. They are crooks and should be shut down. I am not a company but a residential telephone number registered with CPD to stop cold calls but these idiots still keep rining me on a daily basis. Today i asked how they had got my number and their reaction was to put the phone down. I signed up to this after a very persuasive sales pitch. I do not normally respond to this tactic but - they were good! They did nothing other than take 180.00 off me - no advert campaign and no results. There has been a lot of negative comment and all I can say is that I agree with the majority of the comments. Pressure when cancelling is enormous and I then claimed my money back via my bank.. who agreed that it was a bad deal as they refunded me! Need I say more! (read more)

Do not go near this company. They will and do say anything, I had used them for three years, it used to be ok under previous ownership. Now its a disgrace. The will and do say anything to get sales including lying. I was cold called by answerit group and talked into a months trial for a facebook advert, that to be honest, I could set up myself, but they persuaded me to take on the trial. I tried over and over to say no, but they kept pushig until I caved! I cancelled straight away as I did not want to pay anymore, but of course the next payment came out and they said that I had to give 30days notice, so now I would have to pay for 2 more, as it was not enough time for the following campaign! Unfortunately I have only just found this review site and can confirm this company have a very strange way of trading. We took a trial in June 2011. we were promised 50,000 impressions in a month, they got us 4,000. Due to our extreme disappointment we cancelled the services on 7th July 2011, in line with there 30 days cancellation. They took payments in October, and are trying again in November. We would like to take the opportunity to respond to postings that have begun to appear on sites such as these.
Setting aside the many happy Customers whose success stories are not detailed on similar anonymous forums, we have to accept that on rare occasions, regrettably, we do not get it right.
Unfortunately, the extent of these shortcomings are unclear as a result of the need to distinguish between the GENUINE grievances of REAL clients, and the malicious postings of ex employees and competitors that are often published either for ‘revenge’ or for commercial advantage.
It is with the genuine clients that we would like to engage in the event that we have fallen short, in order that we may have the opportunity to put it right and address any systemic issues.
Occasionally, even when we take steps to do so, those efforts go unacknowledged and we STILL do not see a balanced view and accurate representation of the facts on here as a result. That is for their own conscience and we hope that they never have to face the same misrepresentations and falsehoods in the course of their own business. It is very unpleasant behaviour.
Notwithstanding this, we would extend an invitation to any client with a genuine issue to email the Customer Services Manager directly and give us the opportunity to set right any genuine wrongs.
It is our hope that impartial observers will acknowledge our efforts in this regard and take a balanced view of the content of some of the posts as a result.

Just got a cold call from this lot, stating they are from the "Media Network" offering a Facebook advertising package for £199. After the 10 minute call he reduced it down to £99. I asked him to send an email with the features and he refused to do so, making up excuses. In fact, he hung the phone up after he tried all his persuasion tactics. Very unprofessional when calling. Oh boy. I so wish I had seen this review before. I too have had a terrible time dealing with Answerit. They are everything you say plus they tell you things that aren't true. And if you are trusting enough to believe what they say without checking then it is more fool you. I too asked them to remove my card details from their system but they never did. If you set up a direct debit at least you can cancel it but what they do is ask you to use your card to make an initial payment and then just keep the details even when asked not to.
