“Not Bad For The Price”

We flew Insel Air on 12/22/12 out of Charlotte direct to Curacao. Although our plane left 2 hours late the ground crew and flight crew were courteous and helpful. Our flight on 12/29/12 out of Curacao direct to Charlotte left 1 hour late. I don't like delays or cancelations, but I have to say for the price we paid for the tickets about 50% less than American Airlines the flights was good. I do see how if you had connecting flights then this airline might not be the one to take, but for final... (read more)

“DON'T FLY INSEL AIR IF YOU CANNOT AFFORD SIGNIFICANT...”

Travelling with a group of ten roundtrip on Insel from Miami to Port-au-Prince was a truly awful experience. Insel's own planes were "kind of broken" according to the gate agent and they had to charter replacement planes. Our outbound flight from Miami was a couple of hours late and our return flight to Miami was an hour late and our bags took another hour to get to the carousel. Here is a truly crappy airline run by ignorant, inconsiderate, untrained, and unprofessional folks that don´t know any better. From their web site that discriminates against passengers who have no credit card to pay for the flight ( it will not allow someone else´s card to pay), to the inept call center that has provided me with not so true information , to the inferior service commencing at the check in counter, this airline starts out bad. I would never again book a flight with Insel Air, and I can not recommend this Airline at all !!! My flight was suposed to depart Miami at 08.30am.
The evening before I arived in Miami, so I checked if the flight will leave on time. At the departure board was the time of departure I expected. So the day of the flight I went to the counter 05.30am to check in my bag. I was told the flight was sechuled to 03.00pm.
